I guess I'm a Philistine. I drink supermarket brand black tea (two bags per large mug) with processed sugar and canned milk. A couple of these and I'm ready to surf the Internet all night long. Hoo-haa.
"and he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled
You'll come a waltzing Ma-til-da with me"
Now Ogershok, can you tell me what the second line of the song means? Do you know the meaning/message of the song?
Full marks if you do know that's for sure, as many Aussies don't know.

I've had to make the switch to tea (mostly) because of the way my stomach reacts to the coffee...
Since then, I've drank a little bit of everything, but find myself most drawn to black teas, and particularly one called "Dilmah" from Sri Lanka. The only downside is the teeth staining, but coffee wasn't much better, so I can't really complain.
Havin a cup Of Kusmi St. Petersburg blend as we speak, mmmmm good stuff.:):)
I love myself a good cup of tea. I have not met one that I have not yet liked. I was off all caffeine for some time, but went back to drinking coffee and tea as caffeine is a demanding monkey that I can not shake.
Riffing off this post:...
What are some good online sources for organic loose teas as far as price is concerned?
I have also bought Pu-erh Tea from JAS eTEa the last year. Great customer service. I also bought a couple of Chinese tea pots, and when you learn the correct water temeratures and times, these teas are fantastic.
If you are interested in teas like these, Pu-erh Tea - JAS eTea, LLC is highly recomended.
If I remember correctly (and I didn't use Google) Matilda is the name of his tucker bag. Waltzing refers to his going on walkabout with it. I love that song and play it on guitar and mandolin. Also, the swagman (hobo?) drowns himself to keep from being captured after being caught with the sheep (jumbuck).
Always fond of tea over coffee. I, too have a french press, but i use it strictly for tea. Only porblem is that once i get to work, its a coffee/energy drink run atmosphere. I'll drink a cup of coffee if the pot's on, but overall i prefer tea hands down. I am a big fan of the old favorite, Earl Grey. Twining loose leaf Irish Morning is a little stronger, but not as aromatic, but it'll do the job of coffee in the caffeine department, but still give the flavor and smoothnes of tea. Oolong is good but only for a after dinner tea, or as an appetizer drink in my opinion as it lacks the body for a beverage. I'm glad i found other people with the interest in tea... kinda felt wierd for a while, being interested in the straight shave, as well as tea. I enjoy gin and tonics as well, my wife says i was definitely born in the wrong time, i told her i just dont forget a time gone by.
Close, not bad at all mate. A Matilda is a Swag (bed-roll). so to waltz your matilda is to hit the road with the basics, living off the land where you can, sometimes working for your keep.
You are right about the story of the song.
The basic meaning behind the song is, one of the little man, represented by the swagman, willing to die to stay free, unwilling to be oppressed by those that see themselves as better than him. The rich, aristocratic Squatter in this case, represents any oppressive authority figure.
