Anybody tried this stuff? I have about 130 bucks to spend on shaving doo-dads, and really want to try out some new aftershaves and creams. It's nearly $50, though, so I'd like to hear someone's opinion on the stuff before I pull the trigger.

In 10 years of wetshaving ive tried many. Never that in particular. My best for me is pure jojoba oil. A little goes a long way and a bottle lasts a looong time. Unscented for me as scents irritate me.
I have the 1805, Grafton & Trafallgar...so as you can probably tell, I like them...lol. Very pleasant and soothing on the face after a shave, probably best to use in the cooler months as you can feel them on your face but not gummy or overly thick feeling by any means. I'd recommend any of the T&H Product line :tu
I had the Trafalgar and gave it away. I LOVE the scent but didn't care for the way it performed. First, I find that Trafalgar has something in it that my skin just doesn't like. I get an irritation from the shave cream but the balm was worse. Second, I found it TOO perfumed and a a tad on the greasy side for my taste. And while I had problems associated with something it contains, I didn't find that there is anything particularly soothing or healing in any of their balms. As is always the case with shaving products, YMMV. After trying just about every balm out there, I found this one to be the best of all of them.

It has tons of great stuff in it to make your face feel great and it doesn't leave behind too much greasiness. There's just enough oil in it to trap all of the hydrating stuff that sinks into your skin. I use this and get the Trafalgar scent with the cologne.
I'm a big fan of T&H's balms. Great stuff, matched (or even exceeded) only by Castle Forbes, and yes I've tried many. My experience with it was basically the exact opposite of the previous poster's.
I would not hesitate to recommend it - I don't think you'll be disappointed :)
I have Grafton and 1805 T&H's balms. Each one have a very nice subtle scent. They do their jobs well, no complaints. I didn't care for Trafalgar it smelled like anise or liquorice.
Well thanks for all of the responses gents! I suppose I'll go ahead and get myself a bottle. I'll be steering away from the Trafalgar, thanks to your comment, kettlebell.
I use the unscented one. Great stuff!

Gentlemen, I have yet to try a Truefitt & Hill product I did not like. All good stuff. (The pre-shave oil is an exception, but then I don't like any pre-shave oil.) The Ultimate Comfort aftershave balm (unscented) is particularly impressive.
I've got the T&H Sandlewood balm and absolutely love it. I do wish I could get the scent to linger a bit longer, but every product has to have something for us to complain about, or else we'd never talk about it. lol
