    Default Penhaligons Opus 1870

I've tried many different after shave balms over the years but recently I think I've hit the jackpot.
    Penhaligons Aftershave Balm "Opus 1870".
The lady in the Penhaligons store gave me an education on perfumes . I have to say it was the best customer service I've ever had.
She explained to me that you don't rub the Opus balm into your face, you just pat it on and smooth it out.
At the time I thought, what does a women know about applying after shave balm :/
However she was spot on with her instructions.
When you apply the cream it does sting and doesn't soak in immediately but a while afterwards my face feels super soft, like never before and even the next day even I can still feel the softness .
It is really luxurious and some what of a treat.
You can have an average shave but the cream makes it feel like the best shave ever, in my opinion.
Its expensive stuff but its all I will use for a long time

Even better is to apply balm after shaving and a cold rinse, with the face still wet. The wetness helps to spread out a very thin layer of balm. Rubbing balm in can clog pores, leading to acne and other skin problems. It's better to let the thin layer to slowly be absorbed into the skin. Almost any good quality balm will give you the above results, not just Opus 1870. It was your method of application, rather than the balm that gave you such good results, although I also enjoy Penhaligon products.

I've always given my face a massage with balm after a shave . Next shave I will try the pat n spread method with my Truefit ultimate comfort balm , that's currently my second favourite balm, it has quite a weird texture to it.
I cant deal with cold water though :/ I even brush my teeth with hot water.

Hi, I just had a shave and used my number 2 blam "Truefit Ultimate Comfort".
I patted it on an smoothed it out, left it to soak into my skin.
That is definitely the best method for application . However it dosnt come close to the Opus, there is some thing special in the Opus blam that makes your face uber soft.
It is head and shoulders above anything I've tried before.
