Yeah that's what it does. The powder burns like crazy and left a little scar where I used it. Haven't tried the gauze yet, but trust me I will.
Edit: didn't use on my face, it was my wrist in 2003.

I've only just signed up and I must sound like a Proraso fanboy (I use the extra sensitive soap and the pre-shave for pre/post) but I love the Proraso anti-bleed all over the place gel.
On Sunday I was drying my Baurmann straight after a long shave session, testing out my kamisori hone, and I lazily went to change how I was holding the razor to dry another area and I clipped my left index on the heel of the blade. Got a 1cm'ish cut but after rubbing the gel on it kinda stopped bleeding at a small sweetener tablet sized spot of blood, after washing and another small application of the stuff I'm left in a state where it might be sore but the situation could have been much worse without the magic blood stopper.
if i use toilet paper how do i get it off without opening the wound?
Wet the toilet paper with water, it'll disolve.
