Wet the end and dab directly onto the cut. I prefer the roll-on nick treatments, such as the one made by Pacific (Bed, Bad and Beyond sometimes has it). They don't leave a residue, which the styptic pencil does, and seem more effective for me.

Wet it, put on nick or cut, say "damn that stings" or other words of your choice, repeat until bleeding stops or SWMBO decides to call an ambulance.

Don't worry about no blood stoppers like that. Do it the old fashioned way when men were men and put dabs of toilet paper on their faces to stop the bleeding.

Actually Cousin Festus swears by a little dab of cow flop.

Paoraso's stryptic geo is nice because after it does its work it dries up and can be peeled off like TP. For my stryptic pencil- wet the tip, apply, curse.
