Anyone using Burt's Bees Aftershave?

I have only been SR shaving a bit over a month but all I had been using was Publix (grocery store) brand witchhazel. That seems to work fine but I've noticed my skin has been really drying out (could be the cold weather coming on).

Anyway, I used it after my shave last night and it feels pretty good. Not greasy, pleasant aroma though kinda... sharp?. I'll have to use it a week or so before I decide if I like it. One problem is it's like 8 bucks for 2.5 ounces.

I have it and use it occasionally, but for readily available aftershave balms I prefer Nivea, it is cheaper and for me offers a much softer feeling after application. As for the splash I don't like to go without one and those grocery store brand witch hazels contain quite a bit of alcohol IME, so if I were to buy a witch hazel right now I would go with the standard Thayer's or with the winter bringing dry weather here I might go with the Thayer's alcohol free.
But in this theorized situation I would have to order the Thayer's anyway, so at the same time I would order a proper balm as well.

I haven't used the aftershave though I've used many of their other products. I didn't like their soap but their skin care products are pretty good though kind of pricey I thought.

Store brand witch hazel is to be avoided.It is usually very watered down stuff. The dickenson's is far better and the Thayers far better still.

Sorry, I completely forgot about corn huskers, which is great if you can handle the smell. It isn't a strong smell, but some don't like it, I do. This is available in many grocery or department stores in my area.

I've used the BB's aftershave, and it's not bad IMO. I do prefer to use a splash of witch hazel, and then finish with a splash of Stephan's Lilac aftershave. I love the light fresh scent of the lilac, and a LOT of ppl that come into the barber school (students and customers both) enjoy it as well! Give it a try sometime :) Their 320 is also good, with that nice "old barbershop" smell :)

Never seen the aftershave,but if its anything like the lip balm,Im in.Where do I get some of dis? :thinking:

Thanks for the replies. I've used it twice now and my skin seems to be doing nicely. I think the kicker may be that my wife absolutely loves the smell.

The Publix witchhazel has 14% alcohol and right on the bottle they claim it to be comparable to Dickenson's. If Thayer's is that much better, I guess I need to find some and try it out.

@Blackstangal: I found it at Publix in the Men's section of the cosmetics. It was right there next to the Nivea stuff and the regular shaving goo. Speaking of Nivea, I didn't try that one because I couldn't pronounce any of the ingredients.

I havent used the aftershave but I am an absolute BB fan.. I have got to check this out. and I must be the odd man out.. because I am not huge on witch hazel ... am I missing something??

Thayers is much more soothing since it doesn't contain alcohol. At least their toners don't. I think their super witch hazel has some. I had the same experience with Burt's Bees. They are everywhere. It's always a proprietary display, so my guess is they control the distribution all the way up to the display. Anyhoo, I tried the ASB and the wife tried a skin moisturizer. Same results as anything else.

+1 on the Nivea comment. Way cheaper and makes my face happy after a shave.

Found the Dickenson's witch hazel at the local Target. I agree, it seems to be better than the publix brand.

I think this aftershave is a keeper. My skin hasn't been dry at all and it really feels and smells nice after the witch hazel. Now if I can only find it somewhere cheaper...
