A splash of Thayer's Witch Hazel and then this:

I love the I.K. balm. I have slightly oily skin as well, but this stuff is not greasy at all, but is very moisturizing.
Harris makes an aftershave milk which is pretty moisturizing and of course the Trumpers skin food is pretty good stuff too.
Without a doubt, the best aftershave balm I've used is Saint Charles Shaves. Absolutely wonderful stuff.
Trumpers Skin Food.
I love AoS ASB. If you really need moisturizing though, try jojoba oil as a pre-shave oil - it really leaves my face soft and moisturized after the shave.
I am hooked on the Proraso post/pre shave cream in the jar. Great moisturizer!! with a menthol kick!
:beer2:
My favorite and most effective post shave treatment is Alum block, if you have semi-oily skin you shouldnt have any troubles with it, some people say it drys their skin too much, I dont have this problem with it heres a link for some inexpensive Alum Block Barber's Alum 'Þap' (70g - 2.5oz) (Barber's Alum 'Sap' (70g - 2.5oz)): Tulumba.com
All excellent recommendations, but Check this product I reviewed, I think you'll like it

Add Speick to the list as well....
Nivea has a few really good Post Shave Balms, I use the cooling post shave balm. Excellent Products.
Somebody recommended Speick After Shave Balm. I like it quite a bit. Goes on easy and doesn't feel greasy. Still think I like Truefitt and Hill a little better but Speick After Shave Balm is great for the price.

shavingstuff.com just posted a stellar review on the Twinluxe soothing face balm
Review of TwinLuxe Soothing Face Balm | Shaving Stuff - ShavingStuff.com
I agree with blugill. I use Nivea sensitive and it seems to really work well. (been using it more lately because of the cold dry weather) relatively cheap and it works for me so for now I'm sticking with it.
My regimen goes like this:
Cold water rinse,
Thayers witch hazel toner splashed liberally and let dry,
Lucky Tiger disappearing menthol AS cream,
Nivea AS balm for sensitive.
I don't know how it works, but the Lucky Tiger provides a base that seals the moisturizer in the Nivea balm working all day. NOT greasy!
I personally like the nivea products. I am cheap as well, but was surprised at how well they work. I have tested all of them and can say that the extreme comfort is my personal favorite for the dry cold so far.
My face stays moist all day long. My lips havent even dried out as bad, around the edges any way. So if you just want to try out something cheap give it a try. I can only find it at cvs, walmart carries all the nivea except the extreme comfort.

Don't forget about 444!
It's a lovely combo of glycerin and menthol which is great when mixed with an A/S.
Cheers
You cant go wrong with Trumpers skin food IMO. That stuff is awesome!
Im another for Nivea and use there revitalizing double action balm , awsome stuff ..non greasy smells great readily availabe cheaper than most and more importantly works a treat !
I do Prosaso pre and post shave cream followed by Oxy post shave balm, followed by Aveno clear complexion daily moisturizer. Leaves my skin feelling great every time.
I'm partial to Corn Huskers Lotion, Walmart $3, works like a champ
I haven't been fortunate enough to be able to try many of the ASB. I did recently get ahold of a Edwin & Jagger aloe vera cream and AS lotion sample. Both are very nice; I also have slightly oily skin. I am looking forward to trying the Trumper's skin food but for my everyday lotion for my budget I go with Neutrogena. They have some really good products for men. I think I'm going to try the neutrogena aftershave lotion with spf next time as I am a red head and have to watch out for skin cancer.
+1 on the nivea sensitive balm . Good stuff cheap and works real well and is my go to ASB in the winter.
The Body Shop has a really nice Razor Relief from the Maca Root line that I've been using for a whole now. It's unscented, and has a consistency very similar to the Nivea balms, goes on very light.
Leaves my skin moisturized and has a slight cooling effect.
speaking of which, the whole Maca Root line is great, I combine their wash-off shave oil with the shaving cream for an uberlather.
I sometimes put the Face Protector after the Razor Relief for extra moisture, especially in the winter.
TBS's maca root face protector is a fantastic product, and like you say is great for the winter months. I don't use it for a post shave treatment though. I find it works great as a face conditioner for non-shave days, which for me is basically every other day.
I agree. Actually still have some of the old version of the face protector left, it's much thicker than the current one. What I meant was I put it on before I leave the house, like 15-20 mins after my actual shave..so you can not count it as part of my shave regimen.
Either way its great stuff..I definitely recommend the full plethora of TBS products for you guys who haven't tried them.
Go in and ask for samples, they'll give you as many as you want :p
FREE haha
I was feeling pulling during shaving, tried 3 razors with no change
got some Proraso post/pre shave cream in the jar and the problems seemed to go away
Well...there are pretty good recommendations here :tu.
if you have oily skin to begin with, you probably won't need a moisturizer as the oil will naturally keep you moisturized. What you can do, is just use simple Witch Hazel Astringent (has alcohol) or toner (without alcohol). You are good to go ;)...and of course, any cologne that you wish to wear (not on the face though)
What I do post shave, is mix a little after shave (like Floid or DR. Harris, etc...) with some Trumper Moisturizer (or DR. Harris Milk), rub the mix in the palm of my hands and apply to face....Keeps me feeling FANTASTIC all day
Living in a cold dry environment half the year I exclusively use after shave balms. I used to use the splashes but found that they just weren't as kind to my face. Although any good non-alcoholic (for my preferance) balm will moisturize, I prefer Truefitt and Hill balms.
The Jack Black line is excellent! Mens Skin Care, Mens Grooming, Shaving Cream, Gift Sets by Jack Black
I use the moisturizer and post shave every day.
OK, everyone will say I'm nuts, but here goes. I have oily skin. I use a good shave soap, like SRD's or MWF, and after shaving a cold water rinse followed by Dominica Bay Rum. The alcohol in the bay rum counteracts the moisturizers in the soap, leaving my skin where I wish it was all of the time. The bay rum does have a bit of glycerin in it, so it does moisturize a bit, but not to a large extent. Ice Blue Aqua Velva does the same, but has more glycerin in it.
+1 on the nivea aftershave balm.
I have sensitive skin and it works as well or better than most of the pricier balms I have tried. Before the balm I use Thayer's Witch Hazel (no alcohol with aloe).
