Great experiment. I've made some perfume with vodka and essential oils. It takes about a month or more to blend in, away from sunlight or in a brown glass bottle. It smelled fine, sandalwood. I will try with the lemongrass, I have in my back yard.

Well it didn't come out quite as lemony as I would have prefered but there is a lemony smell where once was wet paper bag so I guess that's success in some limited way. I'll finish up the bottle before I determine if I'll do it again or not. I think for my next trick I'll try Key Lime and Peppercorns.
Thanks for the update OldGI! I can't wait to go home and start experimenting. Calamansi might work good to if you can find it.
Any thoughts on how long this would need to steep? (rosemary was going to be my first experiment)
Hey guys, new guy here with a question...I have a friend who's into the whole "essential oils" thing...and she has tons of different flavors/scents...I was thinking Witch Hazel and maybe Tea Tree Oil...
Is this something where you can experiment with just about any essential oil, add the drops, shake, and go? Or do you think the essential oils should also be left to in a dark bottle to steep for a month or so before using?
GI, Thanks for posting. 'Never thought of spiking my witch hazel w/ anything, but it makes sense. 'Hope you & yours have a great Christmas & New Year.
