Has any one used an after shave and lotion combo? I like to use Old Spice original followed by Nivea for men After Shave Lotion. Wondering if any one else does something like this, or the other way around.

I have used the Nivea Post Shave Balm, then hit the Old Spice about 20 minutes later.
I used TN Dickinson's Witch Hazel followed by Pinaud Lime Sec.
Nivea or AoS scent-free works with just about any AS (Bay rum, Old Spice, Clubman).
Lately I have been using AoS Sandalwood balm with Ogalalla Bay Rum (2x strength).
I tend to apply these in a combo. I pour a bit of asb in my hand, sprinkle in generous amounts of either Thayer's or an aftershave splash, then rub my hands together to mix evenly, and finally apply. This process helps me cut a thick asb like AoS to make it spread evenly without over applying it, and also gives me some of the benefits of the witch hazel, which might be overkill because I also use an alum block. Initially I used to be careful to only use unscented AoS due to combinations of scents, but I've stopped worrying about it and pretty much do this with any asb.
I've also tried taking a dab of cold cream, hit it with some Thayer's or as splash, and it works perfectly, especially for the winter months. For summer, the glycerin in the Thayer's is probably sufficient moisturizer by itself.
I use witch hazel then after shave.
I'm a "combo" kind of guy as well.
I enjoy the icy cold of Osage Rub while I do my post shave razor cleaning, then follow up with Nivea Post Shave Balm mixed with a dab of A.o.S. orange scented oil (I have dry skin).
Sometimes I use the Art of Shaving post shave lotion instead of the Nivea, but I don't really like it quite as much.
I do the combo too. Usually my A/s is Captains bay rum followed up by Ems balm. My biggest problem is that my wife seems to hate the scent of nearly every A/s I use. Has anyone tried Proraso? Is there a lingering scent? So far shes not a fan of Captains choice, DR Harris sandalwood, and Musgo Real. I'd like an option that blows off quickly.
Proraso isn't a heavy lingering scent, and is mostly fairly mild. Alt-Innsbruk lingers as well, but is a really well liked scent, so it may not offend her.
I've used unscented Nivea Aftershave Balm before aftershave splash, but never the other way around. I only do this at times when my skin is very dry or irritated.
eShave has an after shave lotion that is nice, love the lime scent too.

I mix it up. My typical is alum, then cold rinse, then AS balm, proraso, or nivea or AOS or my favorite right now is raw coco butter.
This works for me.
Cold water rinse
Alum
Clean Up Gear
Cold water rinse
Witch Hazel
Strop Razor
AS on face, Balm on neck
Don't think I need all of it, just like doing it. :D
Some folks like using a Balm than an AS for the smell.
I stopped using anything after a shave besides alum now since they all seem to make my burn worse :jedi:
Have fun.
Has anyone with sensitive skin, prone to razor burn, tried the proraso sensitive skin aftershave (white bottle)? I've been using the green proraso and I really enjoy it but I think I need something a little more soothing.
I go from thin to thick:
AS splash
Balm
Lotion
Michael
what I do:
Clubman
Then either aos or niviea a aftershave balm
I never thought of my routine as a combo. Like some here I use witch hazel, then apply an aftershave balm or lotion.
However, on the few occasions that I use Old Spice or Clubman, I don't use the aftershave balm or lotion.
i use a home made after shave which is 1 part apple cidervinegar one part water and 2 table spoons olive oil followed by Nivea post shave
