Softening tough chin bristles between shaves

Hi guys

Having some complaints from the girlfriend that my chin rips her face to shreds. I'm having some trouble getting it as smooth there as the rest of my face, but it's coming along slowly. In the meantime, are there any tips or tricks to softening the stubble on my chin when it wasn't quite as smooth a shave as I would like/when it's starting to grow back?

I've tried moisturiser (Nivea) but it's a very temporary and greasy solution.

You can use a DE or whatever method you were using before to tackle that area. I am not saying to stop using a straight on the chin but it does take awhile to conquer that area.

this is gonna sound obvious, but my experience shows that blades that aren't sharp enough just have trouble with this area. as soon as i move to a second sharper razor, that area isn't an issue. It's usually the biggest indicator for me that a blade isn't up to my spec.

I certainly think there's something in the sharpness of the razor, as my chin is usually smoother with my dovo best, as I find that far easier to strop etc than my bismarck.

I've recently found that a small electric razor is quite good at the chin area, although obviously I would like to get to a point where I don't need it :)
