Grapeseed oil if you get razor burn..or even if you don't

I always seem to get razor burn with my Dovo, but not my other blades. I'm pretty sure it's user error, since every razor seems to be different. One trick that I thought I'd pass on that I haven't seen in here is grape seed oil. It is loaded with antioxidants, and is used quite a bit in cosmetics for it's moisturizing effects. I drizzle a very small amount into my hands after I rinse off with witchhazel. Rub it in vigorously until it's soaked in. My gf has noticed a distinct different in the feel of my face and the appearance. You can find it in most grocery stores in the oil section or online I'm sure.

Everyone has been such a great help to me here, thought I'd pass something along that may help others.

A tiny bit goes a long way..

As long as you rub it in and dab off any excess, you shouldn't have a problem. I haven't broken out from using it, and neither has my gf. She has sensitive skin, and I've used it as a massage oil too, with no negative effects after. As always, YMMV.

it's very light and and absorbs very well. You can't slosh it on your face, but I've used it 3 times in a weekend w/o a breakout.

OK. I went out and bought some after doing some research to find that it does not clog pores. It works fairly decent but not as good, IMHO, as a dedicated shave oil (at least Dreadnaught) But, you can also use the grapeseed oil to fry up some eggs and put some on your chest to make your favorite cologne last all day. So, its a very versatile product!

Versatile for sure. You're right, it's not an everyday replacement. Maybe it's more of a trade-off for me b/c it isn't scented. I also recommend it for a nice massage for the significant other.

Has anyone ever thought of using coconut oil?

While the benefits of this product are quite amazing, unfortunately it has been pilloried (unjustly) by the corn and soy industry as being 'bad' due to it being a saturated fat...however it's composition is what saves it.

I use a combination of Almond, Grape and Olive oil to shave every day. I've been using it for a very long time and have no issue with the oil except my wife says it makes my hands softer. Also, use it before you apply shave cream and it will help prevent razor burn.

I love coconut oil!! My wife and I have been to Thailand several times now, where we were introduced to coconut oil. It is a great moisturizer, inexpensive, and natural. I use it at night after washing my face and in the morning after shaving. I have had no issues with breakouts and I have noticed a big difference in my skins appearance. My wife uses it to moisturizer her hair. I would recommend it to everyone. It doesn't take much, maybe the size of a pea or almond to moisturizer your entire face and neck.
