Right now i have only used coconut oil. Seems to work well for me. Don't have anything else to compare it to.
I have to try that. Thanks!
I have been using the pacific preshave oil. Smells like oranges to me. Performance is so so. Don't see much difference with or without. Seems to soak into my skin no matter how much I use. Wetting face an hands first helps but not much.
I'm a big fan of The Village Barber Oil, get a much smoother shave when I use it

I have been using the Art of Shaving pre-oil. It is stupidly thick and hard to spread around your face much but I have been having great success adding a dime's worth on my soap before I lather. Makes the lather slipperier and it seems to take a little longer to dry out as well. Not to mention the sandalwood smell is one of my favorites.
That is the only pre-shave oil I have used and up until my shave this morning I really did not notice any difference between a shave with or without said oil. Today though, I used a little more oil then normal, 2 pumps, and I found it spread a lot easier and my shave was maybe my best yet. I had every little issue with the standard rough spots at the jaw line, under the ears. I will have to check out some other brands before my next purpose.
Have never used it,I think if you have a proper lather with a Tallow based soap you do not need it,JMO.
interested in giving Trumpers skin food a try...is this a pre-shave oil technically? anybody know if it works well?
