Can I have advise as to best way to apply shave cream my Barbor uses his hands to apply and gives the best straight shave I have ever had. I can not emulate with my hands or a brush.
Some imput from one of the gurus would be most most helpful.

It depends on the product, i have read about brushless creams, but don't really have experience with them. What product is your barber using? Also bear in mind that he has been shaving people for some time probablyQuote:

I have sampled a variety of brush-less creams through the years and found them to work. If using cream from a tube, squeeze a small amount into the palm of your hand, rub your palms together and then massage the cream onto your face. If using a tub, try the same method.
If I may suggest, try using a brush and lather soap or cream for the ultimate lathering experience. The brush helps exfoliate the skin, soften the beard and lift the hair for a better shave. Not only that, but massaging the face with a quality brush and a fragrant soap or cream lifts the shaving experience into another dimension.
What kind of cream and soap are you trying with your brush? Are you creating a lather in a bowl or directly on the face with the creaM?
Could be his prep is the key? Prep and experience? All the above? Anyway, good luck and smooth shaves to you.

Joe Shaving Cream seems to work with brush but I seem to use a lot with each application
I shall continue to keep trying different routines until I crack it.

Usually barbers use a Lather King Machine and they apply the lather with their hands. The lather it produces would probably not be very high up on our well liked soap list. It gets the job done and that's it which is what a barber really needs. It's all convenience for him.
Frankly, I wouldn't focus on either lather or techniques for it's application, unless you're confident that your shaving technique and razor aren't factors. After all, a skilled barber with a decent razor can probably provide a good shave using hand soap! On the other hand, it's easy to screw up a great prep with either sub par razor technique or a razor that's not sharp.
Funny thing Dzanda I find some creams better than others and I have to say the "Old Spice" shaving cream I can buy from the Indian grocer here in NZ for about $2 USD works a treat for my skin.
The down side is I smell like my Grand Farther :rofl2:
