Alot of people prep for a shave with a hot shower, how? If I take a semi-warm shower I can't see out of the mirror for 20 minutes. I'v tried wiping it off with a wet cloth, with a towel. Nothing works. How do you guys do it?

Put a little bit of shaving soap on the mirror and rub it all over.
If you can't leave the door open or don't have a fan, try putting a cloth or towel over the mirror while you shower.
Run a blow dryer on high for a few seconds/minutes and then wipe off the mirror. It keeps the cold air from coming in ;)
When my mirror gets fogged, I splash some hot water on it and wipe it off with a dry towel. Once the glass is hot, vapor won't condense on it anymore. Leaving the door open will also help, if you don't mind letting some of the heat out.
I have an excellent ventilation / fan system in my bathroom that takes care of the fogging problems.
The other thing that works is toothpaste. Just smear some on and polish it in and it'll stop fogging.
I also leave the door open to help with that problem!
I only shave at the gym so I don't have that problem.
i just wait till im done and open the door up some as im drying off and by the time i lather up good the mirror is cleared up fine
I leave the door open
Rain-X®: Anti-Fog Wipes with Glass Cleaner—For unexpected fogging on the go
Give Rain-x antifog a try. Also, if you don't have regular rain-x on your car's outside windows, then you're doing it wrong.
what works the same as rain-x and cheaper is just a high quality car was like mothers or meguires
I shave mostly by feel. Sometimes I use a wet hand to give me a swipe of mirror for a few seconds when I feel it necessary. There are antifogging mirrors available, unless I dreamed them up. And if that's the case, I claim patent rights. :P
Google for antifog mirror found this..

If you shop around and read reviews I'm sure you'll find one out there that works acceptably. Or if you have the money you can probably get fogfree glass in your bathroom mirror, maybe.
By this do you ask what do I wash first or with whom do I share the soap?
Hair dryer clears it in a matter of seconds.
For the fog:
I use a hair dryer, and open the door fog has never been an issue.
For the prep:
I use shampoo and this softens the beard well, get a great shave with this method.
Crom
Hair Dryer. Works every time.
I leave the door open...if there is fogging, I turn on the central a/c unit and viola!!! fog-be-gone.
if i ever finally get my own house my plan is to run the hot water pipes behind the mirror, not sure where i saw this idea but it seems like it should work.....right?

I leave the door open. If not, the hair dryer trick works great.
A little soap on the mirror did the trick. Prior to that trick I used the hair dryer.
How do I shower??
Sadly --- alone :(
I distribute a jewelry cleaner called Worley's Wonder. I have a few bottles I keep on hand and it prevets fogging. Use it on my sunglasses too. Also works great for chrome and cleaning razors.
If I don't use this I have applied actual lather. I whip up a lather then spread it on with the brush. After a few I wipe it off with a towel. Works very good!
With Olivias bath soaps :)
Here's a story. For a short while, when I got out of the Navy, I drove Tractor Trailer's across the country. The cool part was seeing the entire country. Me, being from NYC/Jersey area, I was impressed with the West. I thought it was Beautiful, NV, AZ, NM, TX, WY, etc...Just spectacular....
Anyway, I bumped into a female truck driver who told me when she got to Nevada, She heard a commercial on her CB Radio for all truckers to stop by this place, and have some free coffee, and hot showers, etc....
Normally, for over the road truckers, Truck stops offer things like free coffee and hot showers when you fill up. Also, before cell phones were so popular, They had land line phones on the tables for truckers to use....
So, She stopped at the place, When she got inside, She had no idea what kind of place this was, You would think half naked women walking around might have been a hint, but noooo..The girl was naive. She checked in, and asks for her shower.
The Girl behind the counter replies, "Would you like your shower with or without....Truck driver girl replies, "With or Without What?"
Counter girl: "With or Without Company?"
She was embarrased, and left the establishment.....
Maybe not. Code states that drywall has to be 5/8 thick to be fireproof, now, I could be wrong. This may just be for apartments and stuff. Homes, they can get away with more. I not sure if the heat would transmitt enough to prevent the mirror from fogging...
My first home in Florida needed re piping. In Florida, they put the pipes in the slab, so it's impossible to fix a slab leak, like I had. Sadly, You need to have the entire house re piped. My house was hit by lightning. Very common in Fl. It hit the base of the home like a bomb. All my copper pipes exploded, and it fried everything in my house. True story. Allstate Homeowner's picked up the tab.
When they re piped, they did run the pipes through the attic and made the drops into the bathroom behind the mirror like you said, Sadly, It didn't prevent them from fogging.
The home I'm in now has huge bathrooms with walk in closets and a seperate lavatory and shower. The bathroom counter and mirror aren't near the shower, so it does not fog up, but if it did, I'd do the hair dryer...
Along the same lines as the hair dryer. Get a small clip fan like folks use in an office cubicle. Any air moving across the mirror will clear it off well before you get done lathering & stropping.
Well I had been trying the whole hang a towel infront of the mirror and every time I did the bathroom wouldn't steam up and it was being a pain so I didn't do it and what do ya know, there was fog all over the place, couldn't see a thing in the mirror, so I did a trick of opening up windows and take some soap and lather it onto the mirror and it worked like a charm so I have a good idea on what I can do.
Today I took a shower and soaked my badger brush and my boar that way when I had to lather onto the mirror I could use my boar and what do ya know, nothing happened.
My bathroom hates me I do believe.
Easy fix. use a blow drier on the mirror and it will unfog it in a few seconds.
I started using a microfiber cloth and plain water to wash the mirror. And strangely, it no longer fogs, as long as it's newly cleaned.
Your mileage may vary. I have no idea why this should be true.
If you keep your house really dry, as one often does up here on the frozen tundra, particularly if one has forced air heat, it really doesn't seem to matter how much steam your showering contributes to the air in the bathroom, the mirror will fog free. You'll have a dry, hacking cough all winter long and your lather will soon develop the texture of cotton candy, but the mirror, through which you view this congealed foam, will be fog free.
:boohoo:
I took a can of barbosol sprayed some on the mirror, spread it around and then buffed it until the barbosol didn't show anymore, my mirror doesn't fog anymore, if it starts I redo the treatment. I've heard the rain-x will have the same effect but I havn't tried it myself.
