John Allan's Slickwater Pre-Shave Solution

Ladies and gentlemen:

I have tried a number of pre-shave solutions through the years with various degrees of success. The other day I came across a sample of John Allan's Slickwater Pre-Shave Solution and was pleasantly surprised. I used it for several days with different soaps and creams, and straight razors, and had the same good results.

This pre-shave gives a comfortable cushion and a smooth glide. I apply a tiny bit of it on my wet face and message it in; then lather up and proceed to shave. It is not oily or sticky. Quite clean, actually. I am amazed how good it is. Of course, it might not work for everyone as it does for me.

I had never heard of this product. The first thing I did was to order a 2-oz. bottle of it ($29) and hope it arrives by the time my sample runs out. I figure the 2-oz. bottle will last me several months, since you need a couple drops of it. For what it's worth, I really like this stuff. Where did ya find the sample?

I had ordered a Provence Sante Verlain aftershave from the Details for Men. The vendor usually sends three little complimentary samples of various products with your order. John Allan's Slickwater was one of the samples I chose. Lucky, too. This is really good stuff — for me. From what I gather, the vendor changes these complimentary samples around. The last time I looked, the pre-shave was not on the sample list. Either way, I like this vendor for reasonable prices and good service.
