Here's my setup:
Step one - Hot Pot
Attachment 52917
Set temperature to (almost) lowest setting and plug it in.
Step 2 - fill Hot pot with water (I used distilled or filtered water)
Attachment 52918
Don't fill it all the way, since when bowl goes into it, water will spill (simple displacement principle :p)
Step 3 - Fill 1st bowl with dI-water
Attachment 52919
Again, not all the way to make room for second bowl (step 4 - if you will use).
Step 4 (optional) - second bowl
Attachment 52920
Fill second bowl with dI-water. This step is optional. I use it because it gives me much better control of lather temperature.
If you don't use step 4, then you can soak brush at this stage and it will be ready for you after shower. After you get out of shower, unplug the hot pot off during your shave. Water will remain warm
Dump the water from bowl (1st or 2nd, depending on setup) and make lather as usual. Put the bowl back in to keep lather warm throughout shave. If lather dries (some do), I just give it a quick whip (maybe add 1-2 drops of water that's evaporated) and you're back in business.
The benefit of using water to heat your lather rather than direct heat is you have much better control of temperature (I think)...no cooking of the lather.
