What's wrong with baby oil?
Just personal preference?

Well, I think I figured that one out on my own.
My face certainly feels smoother, and my last shave resulted in far less irritation, but it seems like I am strating to break out now, .... quite a bit.
Oh well, so much for cheap solutions.
I guess strating tomorrow morning I will begin trying EVOO and see what happens.
So far I've just managed to trade one skin problem for another. :banghead:
i used to think my shave oil made a difference.. but idk anymore. ive gone the last few shaves without it..
maybe ill try it again tomorrow
I use to think my Magic Shave Oil made a big difference until I tried my last shave without it. One tip that I received from pinklather was to add 4-5 drops of glycerin to my lather. I think that big of glycerin makes the entire difference in my shaves. I finish shaving and wipe clean with a warm washcloth and my skin is soft and smooth, very little razor burn. I use to have to use nivea aftershave to get that soft feeling in my skin. No more.
4-5 drops of Glycerin - available at your local CVS/Walgreens. It should be with the lotion and moisturizers. It's dirt cheap and a single small bottle lasts forever.
I have heard of adding glycerin before. Can you use Vegetable Glycerin?
I have a huge bottle of that stuff for mixing e-liquid for electronic cigarettes.
That's the same stuff.
Try it out. 4-5 drops. It isn't even a dime size puddle.
Has anyone tried mink oil? I have some lying around and it's supposed to be good for the skin as well.
Glycerin works wonders. Sometimes I just rub it directly on my face as a pre-shave.
i use extra virgin olive oil (EVOO). great stuff! just throw 3-4 drops on your hands, rub them together to warm it up, and it feels great. i think it makes a difference, but as someone said earlier, it could just be a placebo effect. feels nice regardless.
