I bought at and antique shop today an old safety razor set. The shaving mug still had soap in it. Is it ok to use? Safe? Or better off pitching it. Thanks

personally I wouldn't use it anymore :/
Lather it up a few times making sure to rinse it off between lathers. That should get rid of the outer skin of the soap. After that, if it passes the smell test, give it a go.
If you came home with something sealed from the supermarket and it had been opened would you use it?
Do you know how old it is? Where it's been? Whats been done with it? Who used it?
On the other hand it might be perfectly good however I'd pitch it.
Creazy8days71: Some chances in life are worth taking and some not. If this excavated soap means that much to you, give it a try, but if it does not . . .
I think I'd pass too. Your call though.
Yuk! that's like using someone else's (insert personal item here) YUK!
