Anyone have any tips for shaving with a sunburn?
Don't do it! Take a break for a few days man.
I second that. I don't think I've ever shaved with a sunburn.
Agreed! Heal up and dont shave! Keep your face extremely moisturized while it heals though.
Try an Aloe based lotion to alleviate the sunburn and WAIT until it's healed.
And lots of natural moisturiser too - as previously indicated.
I was going to be a smarta$$ and say that I've never tried shaving with a sunburn 'cause they are too harsh for my face but I didn't.
Perhaps more screen next time? - but you already knew that, eh :fim:
Tuff up buckoo ! Sunburn - Razorburn what's the difference?
I bet proraso pre shave would feel good on your face, if you have some, use it as a moisturizer. As the other's said, Keep your face moisturized, and take a few days off to heal.
+1 to what zib said. We always used Noxema on a bad sunburn, it seems to cool and moisturize.
Take a few days off, shaving while you have sunburn is ROUGH.
Any product containing Calendula is great for any kind of burn & will shorten healing time.
Aloe works well. It would try to avoid shaving if it is really red.
Sounds like a great time to introduce yourself to the cold-water shave. I only shave cold in the summer, as cold as the tap will run, and I keep my witchazel in the fridge. Aaaaahhh!
But wait on that shave til the burn's healed a little. Hang in there!
Best wishes
Just think about applying some Clubman AS to that fresh sunburn. Bet it doesn't tickle.:)
Some times you just gotta suck if up and go for it, i've had to do it a few times. I used proraso when I was burnt, I also recommend Noxzema to help with the burn I always use it on sunburns and it feels great
I haven't done it(I'm pretty careful not to get burned, and don't burn very easily for some one as fair skinned as I am, anyhow) , but I would think that the same basics apply that apply to any shave with raw skin (which does happen from time to time when I try new products that don't agree with me) . Slow, careful, gentle, good prep, a very gentle, soothing AS, and don't go for the closest shave you can get, go for the least close you can get away with.
