They sell it in the uk for £3. Still smells the same.

I've been inspired by bongo (thx for the cork size tip btw). Vintage scents in vintage bottles. Clubman in the clear bottle, Veg in the lillac colored bottle (naturally...), and a nice ~1965-ish Old Spice.
Stay glassy, SRP.

The brushes that hogged their way into the photo are my latest restos. Shameless Glory Hounds.
Very nice Mike !!....Those Lavender bottles are awesome.
Whenever I find one for sale online it's always "won't ship to Australia" :(
I've found that after a week in glass, there is a subtle change in fragrance and no plastic scent anymore.
I take the cork out for about 30 seconds everyday and the improvement is fantastic.
Fantastic collection you have there, but I bet you won't stop with these, it's very addictive ;)
It's amazing how much they class up the joint! Next time you have trouble with shipping to AUS drop me a line ;)
Another good tip about the daily uncorking-Thanks Again!
I've got some glorious old Royall Bay Rhum bottles...it wouldn't be very respectful to the Captain, but his CC and Co'9T would sure look sexy in them...Maybe I'd just re-label...Hmmm...
Hey Mike,
Looking forward to seeing these Royall Bay Rhum bottles....show me, show me, show me :rofl2:
Do you think we should ask a "Mod" for permission to start a new category for vintage aftershave/cologne bottles ?
BTW. Here are some recent discoveries I've made. Keep the plastic Pinaud bottle caps and about 2"-3" of the neck.
Just by chance, I found a perfect, tight fit for a vintage bottle I had. No glue needed !!

I've also found that the modern Pinaud bottle cap has a totally compatible thread with the Col. Conk bottles

Forgot to mention....making a "custom" label is no problem.
I saw this after "googling" Pirate Ship and was considering a new Bay Rum label.

The old RBR bottles are gorgeous. When the last little bit of that sacred nectar is gone from my last partial bottle (photos 3 and 4), I will indeed fill it with the Captain and affix an appropriate label!
I have an extra, complete with a 40 year old bay leaf inside (photos 1 and 2)! If you'd like it, shoot me a PM, pay the postage to AUS and it's yours. I don't have the crown cap for this at the moment, but think I can find it when I'm visiting Dad's house next weekend...it's around there somewhere, I'll just have to dig it out :)
And I personally would LOVE to see a section on vintage shaver's barberiana...barbers bottles, decanters and the like!

And those are more GREAT tips about the Pinaud plastic necks fitting inside the old glassies!
Has it ever been mentioned that water with food coloring can be added to an old, empty aftershave bottle to mimic its original full look? Obviously just for decoration, but sure adds more life to a collection than an empty glass bottle.
Very nice collection by the way!
