Aftershave recommendations

Just getting ready to order some new stuff and thought I'd seek out some recommendations for post-shave care. Currently use AoS balm and Aveda aftershave. Both I've like but looking for some others to try. Going to try Thayers Witchhazel (maybe lemon?) and what else?

Cheers to another brother from the 'ville! Personally I'm a big fan of Aqua Velva Musk, Clubman, Old Spice and (though its found on this side of the pond for cheap) ALPA's Windsor and 378. But then again personal preference and all.... YMMV!

Captains choice if you like bay rum. Proraso original for a menthol kick. Aveeno for an unscented lotion that works wonders for tender skin. Fine has some very nice and affordable aftershaves. Taylor's have been hit or miss for me but I do like the Eton scent and cream.

Oh, and if you like the burn, I mean holy cow what was that? Burn, cat o nine tails from captains

Your question is a wee bit confusing. Are you looking for an aftershave balm or aftershave pour? Generally speaking, balm is usually creamy — a good balm is designed to moisturize your skin and return the nutrients lost in the shaving process — and pour a thin liquid that has fragrance. I put witch hazel, Thayers, in the pour class.

For aftershave balm, try these: Castle Forbes, BAUM.BE, Institute Karite, Woods of Windsor and Edwin Jagger. The AOS, which you already have, is quite good.

For witch hazel, I prefer Thayers Super Medicated Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera.

For aftershave pours of specific fragrance, you are on your own, because the selection of a specific fragrance relies mostly on personal choice. I use the old stuff: Spanish Leather by Truefitt & Hill, Spanish Leather by Trumper, Royal Copenhagen, Annick Goutal, Taylor of Old Bond Street No. 74 Victoria Lime, Caswell-Massey No. 6 aftershave (supposed designed for our great president George Washington), Lavanda, English Leather, Alvarez Gomez, among others.

For the new stuff, I do like Dior for Men.
