Default Is Unrefined Shea Butter Greasy?

May sound like a stupid question - of course butter is greasy!

What I mean is, after 20 minutes or so, does your skin skin feel greasy/oily or does it soak in nicely? I have very dry skin and this looks like it might be an option for me to help with that.

If you dont use too much, its fine. I use shea and coco. I like the coco better. I dont think you can go wrong with either. They both are stiff at room temp. Put a little in the hand and rub em together to warm it and it will spread easy. Dont rub it onto your neck hard.

Someone sent me a square when I bought some soap. It's been sitting on a shelf for ~6mo and hasn't melted away. Wouldn't think it was that greasy.

Haven't touched it since I put it there.

Thank you Bill for your answer. But Amazon is selling plenty of different products.
I am searching of a product of high quality tested from a member here. I will use it as am after shave balsam.

Im not very knowledgeable about the different grades of shea butter. But I will say I use the one from Amazon as an aftershave with no issues at all. My face is finicky but so far so good. I also use raw coco butter and distilled rose water with good results.

Slur, you can try Bulk Apothecary, Candle and Soap Making Supplies | Essential Oils | Massage Products. . I've purchased from them and the Shea butter is great.

To create a homemade body butter that will not feel too heavy on your skin, use shea butter, cocoa butter or mango butter. Shea butter is made from the fruit of the Shea tree, and is a veritable superfood for your skin! It contains high amounts of cinnamic acid, which helps to reduce inflammation.

Shea butter and Cocoa butter are both high in stearic acid. The concentration of stearic acid in these vegetable fats is even higher than in animal tallow. Because stearic acid is a saturated long-chain fatty acid, it is solid at room temperature. It has the appearance of a wax. For someone with dry skin, shea butter and cocoa butter are useful in moisturizing the skin. However, some people are sensitive to stearic acid, so always use with caution until you know how your skin reacts.
