I confess that on rare occasions, I nick my chin. Usually I just don't care but I would like to have the option of using a styptic if I have to look presentable right after shaving. In my quest to delay Alzheimer's, I am loathe to use standard styptic pencils or alum blocks as they are made of aluminum sulfate.
Does anyone know of a commercially available styptic that is aluminum free?
The link between aluminum and Altzimers is bogus.
Try Nu-Skin, it's an invisible bandage. The aluminum in styptic is minuscule. You would bleed to death before the aluminum would get you.Quote:

We have two liquid styptic products which are aluminum-free: magic Touch and the Clubman Dab-On liquid. Proraso makes a styptic gel that is also aluminum-free.

Thank you for posting this question. It was mine as well. As to the comment that the link between AL and AD is bogus, that is incorrect. What can be said is that the link has not been substantiated. Here is a link to a scholarly article published in 2011 and available on PubMed.

There is a succulent plant called aloe vera. Easy to grow. Just a dab of the gel inside a leaf on any wound promotes healing better than anything I have ever seen. Sure you can get it in products and it's hard to miss it on tons of labels. The plant itself, works.
I have read volumes on the link of Alum and Alzheimers. I think the big battle against the proof is coming from those making a profit on something else. Hint? Alum is falling from the sky :<0)
Jack Black makes a product which is a gel with colloidal silver. it doesn't have the blood stopping abilities of the stick but it promotes healing and is antimicrobial.
A square of toilet paper gently applied with pressure and then a 1" square applied after it stops bleeding. This is what I do and it matches the toilet paper stuck to my heel so I coordinate. :)
