I picked up some of the Florida Water from Walgreen's that folks mentioned several months back. I don't mind it too much, but my wife hates it. She says the smell reminds her of an industrial floor cleaner. The upside is she went and bought some cologne for me (whose name I can't remember right now).
If I shave in the mornings, I leave for work before she gets up, and continue to use the Florida Water. I usually shave, rinse with cold water, apply some moisturizer, splash on the above and grab a quick breakfast.
I want to get some Pinaud one of these days, probably the vanilla or classic scent, or maybe some of the Dominica Bay Rum.
I love three of the Pinaud scents - Original Clubman, the Special Reserve, and the Musk. Didn't care for the Bay Rum, and tossed it. I really like the Special Reserve!
My wife, OTOH, really DISlikes the Pinaud scents, and took me shopping for a scent she can live with! We both used to absolutely love "Kouros", by Yves St Laurent, but can't seem to find it anymore. So, she (we) settled on a new men's offering from Clinique for Men, called "Happy" for Men, oddly enough! Reminds me enough of the Kouros, and came with both a skin moisturizing aftershave cream, and the spray cologne/aftershave in the same scent.
I use the Clinique Happy when I am out or with her, and the Pinaud scents when I got to work, or it's just me out and about.
Ever since I got caught bidding on Ebay on some Hai Karate. My girlfriend asks that I consult her about myscent purchases. I use occationally Pinaud Bay Rum but it is not my favorite. My 2 favorites right now are Dunhill Excentric and Dunhill Desire. I like Happy from Clinique too and I have been using the tub of Clinique shave cream. I really like it. Got some of the best shaves I have ever had with that stuff.
Pinaud Vanilla is my favorite, and my wife's, too.
BTW, she hates the Lilac Vegetal by them (I like it)Parry. Says it reminds her of a nursing home. The reg'lar Clubman is a good scent, too, for me. The wife is OK with it.
Dominica Bay Rum is good. A great old time scent.
I also like anything limey. Dominica's lime, Truefitt & Hill lime, both are great.

Clinique.
thats interesting. I think ALL women love clinique happy. I got rid of a bottle couple years ago because it was something an ex gf liked, only to have the new gf want me to buy the stuff as well. I haven't gotten it yet, but she also really likes the victoria's secret "very sexy for him2". A lot of girls seem to like the first one, but my gf (the one I have to please, after all) likes the second version.
Egg-do tell us about that clinique shave cream in a tub. I haven't heard of it. Is it brushless or does it lather? I have some clinique in a tube but I think mine is brushless. Honestly haven't given it much of a chance yet.

Hmmm, I still have a new bottle of Pinaud's Special reservea dn one of their Vegital lilac I can't seem to give away. I took one splash out of each and can't stand them.
Anyone here want one or both for the cost of shipping?

Dammm,
That is the name of the cologne my wife liked when I wore it. I couldn't remember the name. Oh well I guess it doesn't matter since you say they don't make it anymore. I guess I will try happy! I still like the pinaud clubman and bayrum but my wife says the bayrum reminders her of a Starbuck's Chai Lattee. Don't know if thats good or bad.
You can still get Special Reserve at eBarbershop.com, I believeQuote:

They carry more Pinaud than I even thought existed!
It's the Kourous that I can't find.
That's easy, too: http://tinyurl.com/ctlaxQuote:

I do like it, however it reminds me of Skin bracer minus the menthol ( at least that’s the first thing that came to mind when I first used it). I kinda like the whole "cooling" effect of skin bracer, but there is not such effect with clubman. But, I must say that it is kind to my skin I've not had a single problem with rash or razor burn and that’s a bit of a miracle since most of the shaving I’ve done over the last month was testing my razor while learning to hone it properly.
I will have to try some of these since most (Pinaud) are pretty damn cheap compared to CK, Drakkar Polo and the likes.
You mean there are other scents than Old Spice? Wow, who'da thunk it. I might have to try some.

Florida Water and Pinaud Clubman scents are usually great for me, except the Lilac Vegetal. There is some sort of repulsive revulsion smell memory linked to this one that makes me go Yikes! Addiadas has a great aftershave, usually you can get a two fer of aftershalve & balm.

I sure do 8)
The Vanilla is one of my favorites. I think some people don't try it because of the vanilla, but it smells way mo bettah and no vanilla fragrance at all. Lynn
You are right. I was leary of getting it as I didn't want to smell like dessert. But it is ok. Much better than the lilac stuff. Ohweeeeee.
I now have Bay Rum, clubman, vanilla and lilac from the pinaud listing. 8)
I also like the Clubman Vanilla, but I thought it was a little weak. I used a vanilla bean cut across (in half) then split the halves lenghtwise and inserted them into the bottle. In about a month (shake once a week) the fragrance was very nice and gets better as time goes on. Mine is 4 months now. The liquid color gets a little darker and there is a very small amount of sediment on bottom.....that's when you know it is aged well. It doesn't take much when applied when aged.
A good source:

Get the Madagascar they are the best.
You can make vanilla exteact to die for. Knob Creek whiskey (100 proof 750ml) add 10 beans split lenghtwise.
Age in dark cool place for 6 months to a year.

Does anyone still use Old Spice aftershave? It reminds me of my teenage years, hummm maybe I'll try some again.
Old spice seems to be making a comeback, of sorts. I have seen it being stocked again in quatities, and with an expanded product line at two pharmacies near me. I may have to try it again, for old times sake!
I use Old Spice and also have a bottle of the Old Spice Lime fragrence. I still like the Old Spice scent. It reminds me of my grandfather back on the farm.
Wishing for yesteryear,
I have found that every girl I know, no exception, loves the smell of Curve for men. I personally don't want to smell like every other guy, so I wear Armani Mania, and I'm thinking about getting Armani Black Code (my girl friend liked that one better in a blind test  ).
