Does anyone use WitchHazel?

Every couple of shaves I like to use Witchhazel. It has a light smell and a light refreshing feel to it. Just curious if anyone uses this?

I use Witchhazel on a daily basis.

The routine is shave, followed by rinsing the face with cold water, then the witchhazel. I let it astringentate the face while I brush my teeth, then cold water again, followed by my daily choice of aftershave.

Since I adopted this regimen, my razor burn has decreased noticeably.

Witch Hazel guy too on the weekends. I love the Pinaud scents and use them daily when going off to work. On the weekend though I have to change because my wife is very sensitive to scents and the witch hazel is pretty much scent free once dry. Since we are together all day on the weekends I try to accomodate her needs. During the week the Pinauds scent wears off by the time I get home.

yes, after i shave, i wash my face with cool water, and then use thayers witch hazel with rose. any residue of shave soap is cleaned away and the rose and witch hazel have some antiseptic properties. i used to use kiehsl blue astringent toner, but that made my oil zone worse. i follow up with natureade 80 aloe vera gel in case i have irritation, whether i do or not. then about 30 minutes later, i use coral skin food to seal in any moisture and i have found that i am not as oily at midday as i used to be

I have searched for this plant in my country, but it is not native here (Macedonia, near Mediteran), it is called Hamamelis virginiania,

so i am starting to use aloe vera gel.

Does any of you uses aloe, exept for finsfan:) ?

My wife mixes up an essential oil aftershave for me that has witchhazel in it. I have tried witchhazel straight, but I don't care for the smell, and the feel is not anything special.

I found a tube of aloe vera gel the other day under the sink from last summer; this was 10 percent mentholyptus. It was not bad, but I would like to try 100 percent aloe.

I use diluted aloe gel 1:1 with mineral water. It might be too strong used 100% for sensitive skin. I have some 100% left, but i havent try spashing it straight.

Haven't tried it; but will give it a try. I have used tea tree oil, however. I believe the Body Shop sells witch hazel based skin cream.

Witch hazel, mixed with boric acid, aspirin, alcohol, glycerine (and maybe some other ingedients I can't recall) as a basic splash on after shaving.

I use Thayer's Witch Hazel with Lavender on the days I use "lavender" products. Absolutely love it. I also keep a bottle at work for hot days...really refreshing!
