Locally I could find most of the Clubman Pinaud aftershaves in the variety of drugstores, however, the variety has dried up. I have been searching for the Bayrum and can't find it nor any competitor's bayrum in the local stores. Guess I can go on line but was wondering if there's a shortage of some sort going on.

I see it all the time here in town, at the closest Sally's Beauty Supplies.
No shortage that I've noticed.
The only Pinaud scent that I see regularly in the drug store is Clubman. I had to get mine on line. :roll:
The original is by far the easiest to find - most of the drgu stores and beauty supply joints carry it. Thus far, I have only seen the Bay Rum at Eckerd's, which is where I bought mine. I am torn on it - I like the way it makes my skin feel (very tight and clean) but I'm unsure on the scent. Sometimes I think I smell like a spice cake. And, as far as aftershaves go, it has a definitive burn going on, which admittedly has become kinda exhilirating after the first few tries. Burns like hell on a cut though.
EDIT: Also, was wondering if anyone can give a rundown on the other Pinaud scents, which ones are worth a try, which ones to avoid???
I can tell you this I have tried the original (Clubman), bay rum, vanilla and lilac. My favorites are the clubman and bay rum but vanilla is ok too. I am not to fond of the Lilac. My five year old daughter likes the bay rum the best. My wife thinks it smells like a Starbucks latte (sp?) I guess the saying "Taste is in the mouth" is true. :D
the lime is pretty good too.

The Lime has a lime aroma with some underlying spicy but it's not over-powering. The aftershaves seem to disapate fairly quickly as the Lime is no different. I wish I could get Hai Karate Lime aftershave again.

To us the scents dissipate fast, but I tend to shave around 1-2 PM and get compliments/comments from people when I get to work at 5PM about if I've been to a barbershop today (with the Pinaud classic)...I did get one compliment from a female co-worker about how I don't reek of cologne like the other guys my age. I'm "more subtle" - about the only thing I can be subtle with!
I think once my wife's summer job situation settles down I'll order some from Ray, as most places here sell just the classic, which I have in abundance.
I went to Eckerd this weekend and found Pinaud's BayRum. This is my favorite so far. Like Rich, My 3 year old daughter asks me to shave so that I can "smell good just for her". My wife says she likes it too. I think it smells like a candle shop with a lot of cinnamon. Its a little different but everyone seems to like it. It also feels good, It does indeed make your face feel tight and refreshed.
My local drugstore carries the plain Clubman, but I haven't tried it. I have used the vanilla and "special reserve" varieties that I ordered from Classic, and they're both great. I like the special a little better though, it has a very nice scent.
I came across a couple "new" ones yesterday at our local flea market - I got a bottle each of the classic vanilla (which is quite nice and not very vanilla) and the musk.
Is it just me, or does the musk smell exactly like the classic pinaud scent, only more concentrated???
Oh, they also sold the Eau de Portugal and one other hair tonic - I did not get them only cause I know NOTHING of them. I do use Vitalis on occasion, so if someone can make a comparison to it I'd appreciate it.

I just got out of the shower, I hadn't planned on taking one, but my wife told me I was either going to wash "that crap" off or sleep somewhere else!
I got a package in the mail today, it was the bottle of Bay Rum I had ordered a few days ago. No offence, but I knew I had probably made a mistake as soon as I saw the cheap plastic bottle and cap. :mad:
Oh my gawd, thinking it would tone down a bit over the course of the day, I tried it. WRONG!
I smelled like I'd spent a week in oil of cloves! A friggin' Christmas Ham in tennis shoes!

Yeah, not a big fan of the Bay Rum myself. Love the Clubman though. Haven't tried the others yet. I also use the Pinaud Body Talc. Nice.

She didn't like the Bay Rum??? (Pinaud??) That is about the only one my wife will tolerate. Oh well. :)
Well, she does have a very "picky nose" (hahaha), sorry,.....I didn't like it either, it took me a while to narrow down the scent, but I figured out it was cloves , I didn't sense any rum or bay in it.
:) Anyhow I hope I didn't step on any toes, not everyone likes what I wear either. :D
Tommy try the GEO by Pinaud. It's very similar to the Aqua di Gio you'll pay a pile of money for at Dillards. Great feeling splash-on too. That one, original, and Coachman are my three fave Pinauds.
