Hi Folks,
Yesterday after shaving i started to put on my home made bay-rum like AS, and as usual, the AS just started to burn my face, when this idea came in to my mind:
A lot of AS's contain alcohol, why not put the AS into the fridge?
If you drink some alcohol, it's burning your throat, when it's not cold.
So, my question is: Did anyone tried it before?
I'm going to try it, and post the result.
Seems a bit odd, but go for it and let us know.

I can see a use for this and my try it myself. On the hot summer days, I have a hard time shaving after a shower. The exhaust just can't move enough air, and my cold water just isn't cold.

Wouldn't that be a side benefit in some cases?

So Yesterday i did it! I've put the AS (my home made one) into the fridge, did my prep&shave, and then... A splash os AS. It was soo cool! I had a nice feeling without the burn! So this is working!
I have a Proraso AS too, that i will try sometime.

Sometimes I'm tempted to try that but it would be a waste of aftershave and it would also **** my wife off.

I prefer the traditional "home made" (actually it's not home made, but we call it that way) spirit, called "palinka". This is about 52 vol% of alcohol. It does burn Your throat, when You drink it at room temperature. (When i'm not mistaken, Gin is about 40vol%). Or try some wine at room temp. and at 12-14˚C-it won't burn, but tastes very different. Or some Stroh 80 (with 80vol% of alcohol.)Quote:

I think the menthol blast from that would be enough--you might be in pain if you chilled it! And putting Osage Rub in the fridge I think can be summed up by this smilie:
