Yeah...that's right. I used some witchhazel today for as part of my aftershave regimen for the first time. When I opend the bottle and smelled it, I was surprised to find that the smell reminded me of tequila without the alcohol. Is that weird or what? Has anyone else had this experience or am I just crazy?
I can't imagine tequila without the alcohol. But then....why would you want to?
I use it all the time and never got that smell..:shrug:
It's smells but not like any Tequlia I've ever drank:shrug::eek:

It depends on the brand. They all smell a little different. I've tried many but none smelled like tequila to me.
when do you use the witch hazel, after the alu block? and then finish with a nice balm?
I picked up a bottle of dickinsons witch hazel a few weeks ago and it has a very strong alcohol smell too it.
Thayers, i never get unpleasant smells...

I've been wondering what the witch hazel smell reminds me of and, by golly, that's it. It's not identical by any means, but it has that same, sort of salty, smell I associate with the after taste of Jose Cuervo.
AHA! Finally someone else who smells it! Thank you!. Up until this point, I thought I was the only one who got it. Actually I asked my gf the other day and she said she smelled it too so I knew I wasn't completely nuts but it helpes when someone hundreds of miles away sees my point as well. :)Quote:

i awnsered my own question this evening, i picked up a bottle of thayers with lemon, so i get the tequila and the lemon, now i just need to rub my face with salt, and i will end up with skin so tough, i wont need to use a strop, i will just rub my razor across my cheek 50 times and then shave.:needcoffee:
Regular old Witch Hazel does stink. When I use it, my GF smells it, and hates it. I'm going to try some of SRD's Scented ones...See if they're any better...

Ditto, I use WH after most every shave. While it's been quite a while since I've had tequilla, I've neve really made the connection. I get more of a rubber (i.e. new swim fins or the showroom of a tire store) kinda smell out of witch hazel
Yes, it smells EXACTLY like tequila! But, the smell fades almost instantly. Witch Hazel is the best aftershave out there because it's actually good for your skin, and, more importantly, it doesn't stink you up like an adolescent male ("too much cologne is not enough!") or a recent male immigrant from a third-world country ("what do you mean, waiters should not wear cologne, I wear it everywhere" -- in response to cologne-scented coffee, eggs and toast).Quote:

I agree, I thought the same thing when I first smelled uncented witch hazel.
Thayers makes some nice scented witch hazels. I use the Rose Petal after every shave...............Again, ...Personal preference. The scent is short lived and doesn't interfear with any aftershave/cologne applied afterwards............
