Never tried this brand, since my local Indian grocer has them for $1, but I thought I'd pas it along. They also have Turkish shave creams which I've heard good things about but have not tried.

I bet down here in our neck of the woods an indian grocery would probably have a whole different meaning; honestly, I've never heard of one. Great price on alum though.
It's cool to see there is another straight shaver in the general area. I was startin to think I was all alone down here. I have some kinfolks in Philadelphia; great-aunt is a teacher and a cousin close to your age that I believe is a mechanic. Don't hear from them much.
The block just arrived now. I don't know how big others are getting them but I expected it to be about the size of a bar of soap. Anyway...

Dang. I got a Shavex alum block from SRD a year ago and it was easily 3 times that size; and still another years worth of use left.
If this works well then I'll pick a block from SRD. I'll use this one until it's gone though. The package says "Barber's Alum" on the back.
I love it man; makes a world of difference to me. The ones from SRD are about the size of a bar of soap and come in a plastic container, like a travel dish.
