reccommend me a nice cologne

im not really a cologne wearer, the last one i bought was like 6 years ago Issye Miyake and its only half gone lol i like the scent of it but it is main stream and im looking for something that will stand out amongst the department store crap

i like T&H's grafton shave cream scent 1805 is nice as well, i have pinaud clubman, lilac vegetal, ogalalla bay rum sampler, old spice, stetson, brut, aqua velva blue ice.

It's really an impossible question because the beauty of scent lies with the beholder. What one person finds heavenly another might think smells like a skunk. You're just going to have to get out there and start sniffing.

yeah true i like most scents in the winter i trap so i end up smelling like the business end of most fur bearers lmao

I really like Musgo Real Aftershave followed by Musgo Real Cologne #1. They both have a very clean, crisp, somewhat of a citrus scent. Give it a try and let me know if you like it.

Mugo Real Classic Scent is nice. It also has staying power. Persoanlly, I like Creed colognes. They are high priced, but well worth it imo.

Perhaps there are online fragrance sites where you can purchase samples of different scents at a relatively inexpensive price to test them out. Fragrancenet or Fragrance X?

Its such personal choice TBH. It also depends on how the cologne reacts on your skin. Some scents last on some people, and stay smelling good. Others dont last as long, or dont smell as nice on the skin.

To your description, I like Aqua di Gio, which is very citrusy and summery. Its a good 'un..! :)

But other than that, head down to the store and start sniffing..!

Skip the cologne.

Try some of the QED Essentials Shaving Soaps.
The fragrance stays with ya a long time. They
have more than a dozen scents. If you find one
that you like you have a winner because the shave
soap is way better than OK. Not to be used
with cologne that would be just too much.

For the intimate private times nothing is better
than the subtleness of MWF!

Note that I am normally NOT a fan of cologne
or fragrances in general. Too many are
too strong and tickle allergic like reactions
in others especially in confined spaces like
conference rooms, offices and aircraft. QED fragrances
seem to be based on very pure and natural
sources and while strong as heck may be OK
in close quarters where AX and those infernal
over marked to teenager products would not.

MWF is Mitchell's Wool Fat shaving soap.
It is one of the top half dozen classic hard shave soaps.
Some smokers cannot smell the subtle fragrance but
I can and love it. When the neighbors orange tree blooms
and the night air is soft warm and just right.... sort of thing.

ok gotcha i was lookin into that as well, i ordered SRD's essential oil shaving soap sampler its just hard for me to get a great lather cause the wedges are so small but yeah they smell great too

Go to Victoria secret and buy Very sexy for him, they hve a matching aftershave too.

Both the cologne and the aftershave are the only thing I've been wearing the past few years.

Up here in Canada we don't have Vic secret so no one I know wears it. Maybe down there not many guys wanna venture into the store so you might have something unique.

Either way I say go for the aftershave it's my favorite.

Make that (at least) three of us. If you ever bought any supplies/traps/etc. from Headwaters Outpost ... that was us. We folded when the fur markets tanked in the early 80's. Lost my butt on that venture.

There were some lessons learned, though. I made our own scents, and got familiar with many the various essences and the way they either blend or dominate. Doggone shame I've got the oldtimer's disease and can't remember much specifically. :)

However, unless it came in a plain brown wrapper with a bogus return address and in an unmarked bottle, the minute my wife saw it I'd be accused of having an affair. i dont know how old you are. But if your looking for a classic crisp scent. Givenchy Pi (as in the math symbol) is a very crispt scent.

if your looking for a younger softer scent im a big fan of Adventure by Davidoff.

I forgot to mention it earlier, but thre is always J. Peterman's 1903. It's a great smelling cologne that gets me complments whenever I wear it.

I got into trapping because my youngest son saw some furs at my friends house and said Dad can we catch some furs like these? I said sure,but i didn't know the difference between a mink and a muskrat! So we took the course, he was 10 and i was 44 and that was 10 years ago.Better late than never.I got some equip for minnesota trapline. Are you still able to get out and set some steel?

That's not a hard problem at all.
First determine the demographics you are targeting. Then you want to get what their fathers would've used, so look at what was popular that many years ago.
Then just reap and enjoy the fruit of the instant success.

No, all the places I trapped fox and bobcat were managed by coal companies back then, and they allowed access. Now the gas company has the leases, and they lock everything up.

I still might have a go at some beaver this winter, but with back problems I don't know if I'm up to that. The locals go after the easy ones that aren't far from the road, and it's a hard slog with a heavy load both ways in waders to chase the rest of them. I figure I gross about 50 cents an hour trapping beaver, less expenses, if I don't count the time I spend skinning, fleshing and stretching them. :rofl2: That particular place (National Forest) looks like it's perfect for mink, but I have yet to see any sign of them.

I agree with the opinions on the scent of MWF. For Mothers day I bought mom the handsoap and sheep soapdish, she got a kick out of it.

For aftershave I have been using Ogallala Bay Rum, it has an unusual scent that is not too " overpowering " . For Bay Rum it is not the cheapest out there, but it comes in a glass easy pour blue bottle.

Creed Erolfa is one that I would recommend, especially for the warmer months. It's clean, fresh, has an oceanic note in it--and it's a nice balance between mainstream and something that smells "unique" and a bit more "upscale." One frequent criticism of Creed is the lasting power.

I've really been enjoying Trumper's Eucris. I also got L.T. Piver Vetiver on a blind buy. Both very nice, though I think I prefer Creed Original Vetiver to the Piver.

im 31 so im in the middle of the scent road lol


i have the ogalalla sampler it was cheaper to buy 2, 2 ounce samplers then to buy the 4 ounce bottles lol so i have all their scents currently out. which i love the sandalwood bay rum and the reg bay rum. love clubman thats the scent i remember at the barbers.

I have to say...Creed Original Vetiver is one of my favorites!

Take a look at these, a little on the expensive side but by far one of the best Colognes I have ever experienced.

The cool thing about all of their fragrances is that you can mix them and create new scents...
