Witch Hazel can help prevent irritation and it helps seal the pores. Its good stuff.
Thanx How do i make it smell better ?
I use witch hazel after every shave before I apply aftershave...Love it!
Yes, you can use witch hazel on a customer after a shave, or you can just use an aftershave.
The witch hazel will have more of a soothing effect I believe though. I don't know about making it "smell better", but after I used it a couple times, I came to enjoy the smell of it.
You could always splash with witch hazel, then put some aftershave that smells better on after that. I do that occasionally when I shave.
Where did you go to barber school?
Thayer's is one of the more popular brands of witch hazel around here. They have a few scented varieties. Look here...Premium Witch Hazel : Thayers Natural Remedies, Since 1847
I don't think I would be using pure alcohol on someone after shaving if you want repeat customers. Witch hazel is one of those acquired smells. Some love it and some hate it. I've found it hard to mask the odor. Thayers has quality stuff that smells great and you can buy the watered down store-brands which have less product.
Alrite thanx guys and I've never went to barber school I'm 14 but I'm going to be enrolling this summer and I've been cutting for about 4 months
Just curious... you guys use straight up witch hazel?
I followed the link up there to the fancy stuff, which is kind of pricey, particularly since I don't know how it works for me having never tried.
Then I went to CVS site (I have one down the block) and they sell 16oz for a few bucks, and the house brand is under two.
I know it's a total noob question, but can't seem to find it addressed (clearly enough for my neanderthal brain) and I'm just trying to get get my bearings.
