The Immortal Seven
Gentlemen:
What are your Immortal Seven?
Scores of aftershaves and colognes have passed through my shave den through the years. Some I have retired immediately after the first application and some after the first bottle. For instance, Proraso, Spanish Floid and Tabac, among others, all lasted only one bottle.
There are still many that float in and out, including Pashana, Musgo Real classic, Clubman (Pinaud), and so on.
Seven aftershaves, however, have carved a permanent niche in my shave den. I call them the Immortal Seven. They are:
1. Spanish Leather (Truefitt & Hill)
2. Spanish Leather (Geo F Trumper)
3. Woods of Windsor
4. English Leather
5. No. 6 (Caswell-Massey)
6. No. 74 Victoria Lime (Taylor of Old Bond Street)
7. Blenheim Bouquet (Penhaligon's)
Someday these fragrances might give way to others. Or not. Who knows what lies ahead in the future? Yet, since we've been together for so many years, competition to knock them out of the shave den will be a tough battle.
So, yes, gentlemen, what are your Immortal Seven?
If you don't have seven, I'll accept whatever number you have up to seven. Many thanks.
Regards,
Obie

Great choices Gents:)
My choices are ASB/EdT.
I always use both from the same maker, so I never use After-Shave splash.
My immortal seven would be:
Penhaligon's Endymion
Martin de Candre Eau de Candre Lavande
Domenico Caraceni
DR Harris, Arlington
Penhaligon's Opus 1870
Acqua di Parma Colonia
Truefitt&Hill 1805
-
A nice coda to the thread on the DE board Obie. I don't think I can manage seven, but:
Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta edc
Musgo Real No.2 Oakmoss edc
Givenchy Gentleman aftershave
Cella Classica edc
Musgo Real Classic aftershave
In that order, more or less.
-
Sometimes I like splashes, other times I like balms, or sometimes I splash and then balm.
Of stuff I own, in no particular order:
Plain witchhazel
Lucido AS Balm (which is not actually a balm - their lotion is a balm and I don't like that one)
KD Creations AS Balm/Milk (I forget what it's actually called)
KD Creations AS Gel (I don't know if Carrie still makes it, but I like it sometimes because it's more a splash than a balm)
Ogallala AS products (I think bay rum and sandalwood is my favorite scent)
I have some others on my to-get list, such as Royall Musk, but given what I have and how long it last, new stuff is not a priority. I'd rather get more razors :-)

Bay Rum
Vetiver
Fougere
English leather
Florida water
Lavender spice
I also always have some sandalwood fragrance. All mine vary a little as I enjoy making my own fragrances, so often I will have more, or varieties.

My Favorites:
Speick
Spanish Floid
Proraso
Italian Floid
Lucky Tiger Aspen
Musgo Real
Pinaud Clubman
All exceptional, however for me, the Speick really stands out!

- Guerlain Habit Rouge
- Creed Original Santal
- Acqua Di Parma Colonia
- Penhaligon (Opus, Racquets, Blenhein Bouquet, Endimyon, Quercus)
- L'Occitane Vetyver
