Though question, I have too many great aftershaves, but if I had to stick to one for the rest of my life I think I would go for Alt Innsbruck.

Would have to be good old fashion Aqua Velva for me.
Royal Copenhagen
Dominica Bay Rum. Aqua Velva a close second.
Dominica Bay Rum w. Lime!!!
Here, here! Dominica Bay Rum w/ Lime. An indescribable pleasure. Toss the rest out.
It is a difficult question. My vote is for Floris JF. Probably not the best, but I love this scent.
Salu2.
Indesio.
I think I am going with DR Harris Marlboro - great smell, menthol cooling, leaves skin soft. The scent does not, however; last long enough so that's why I also use Marlboro cologne to go with!
A second choice might be Alt Innsbruck - smells like rootbeer to me and is very cooling.
Florida Water. I'm not even sure it's technically aftershave, but it certainly fits the bill for me. Best soothing burn I've found.
Old Spice. I know, corny right? It's hard to find something in Sydney that doesn't smell like lady scents. I'm eager to order some pinaud clubman from overseas though, maybe that'll do it for me more :D
Right now, I'm thinking English Leather. After all the posts, though, I can see I'm going to have to try the Pinaud Clubman I've been saving.
That's a tough question. Probably Sienna, but next week it could be Pinaud Bay Rum. Week after next? Old Spice Original? Glad the question is hypothetical.
L'Occitane Cade for me, although I just ordered some Razorock wax to try.
Yeah Clubman, its good stuff, be fore warned: Clubman goes on strong and stays that way like most of the old time scents Clubman is better I think if decanted into a glass bottle. I got some small bottles (~ 6 oz) with the ceramic plug/rubber gasket/wire bail for seizing (stoppers like the Grolsch (sp?) Beer bottles have) and decanted the Clubman into one of those. It does a lot for the stuff, getting it out of those tinkie plastic bottles. Same goes for the hideously maligned Lilac Vegetal. And for what its worth, I like LV. You've just got to give it 20 or 30 minutes to "calm down" after it hits your face.
I don't know why Pinaud can't make a few decent bottles that would be re-fillable from the plastic junk they sell their wares in. I know that I'd buy a few of them. They'd look nice on the counter in the shave den.
Pinaud Clubman for me
Captain Smith's Spiced Bay Rum. I have alot of Bay rum and this is my fav. by far. I could use it everyday!!
TOBS 74 Vic. Lime - love it.
Reading through the thread though, I would be happy with almost all of the ones you all have mentioned.
Right now it would be Meehan Bay Rhum. Great burn and wonderful spicy smell. Never tried Pinaud Clubman. Seen it in CVS drugstore. Might need to check it out. But, not sure it would beat my bay rhum.
After all the comments I guess that I will have to try Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum. Its inexpensive enough to try!
However, my all time favourite is the aftershave that I have been using since 1972. Dior Eau Sauvage.

I wouldn't be without it. Subtle, citrus, not too strong a scent when first applied, very long lasting. (Not inexpensive though).
Rod
Nancy Boy. Their stuff repairs my mistakes and rewards my face when I don't make any. Great stuff.
Proraso Dopobarba AS con Mentolo e Allantoina, there's no other!
Proraso for me as well.
Toss up between Clinique Post Shave Healer, Proraso After Shave Liquid Balm & Edwin Jagger AloeVera After Shave Balm.
I haven't used aftershave since my teens!! I've been using Alum for some time now on a daily basis and haven't looked back.
Alum, some Skin Food, and a splash of EdT.
Oscar.
Royall Bay Rhum (although Pinaud's Bay Rum would do).
Witch Hazel then some Nivea Sensitive Balm for me thanks.
Thayers Alcohol Free Witch Hazel with Aloe. If I'm already using an astringent, why use an aftershave?
Ogallala Bay Rum, definitely. If I were to throw everything else away and keep but one, that would be it.
Lilac Vegetal... There, I said it :)
Which variety? Pinuad? masters? Gables? Stephan? Enquiring minds want to know! I want to know!
I think id' pick Stephan if I had to pick one Lilac vegetal ( it's milder and has actual EO in it)
Now, for the original question, witch hazel wins as an overall AS. I "upgrade" mine with a few extra soothing ingredients, however. It is less "fun" than lilac vegetal or aqua velva, though.
