Hi all,
Got a sample of amber floid, liked the smell & so did the frau but didn't like the coating of powder on my face,does the floid blue do the same??? haven't been able to get a sample of that but i can get a full bottle although i've read it's getting rare due to it being discontinued.
I have a bottle of the Amber Floid and not really sure what you're meaning..I've yet to feel a powder coating on my face with its use:shrug:
I love the stuff and SWMBO does as well :)
What do you mean by coating of powder is it just the way it makes your skin feel or does it leave a coating of powder on your face? I have both Amber and Blue and the Orange Spanish version the only thing different in them is the way they smell. When I first got the Spanish version it had a faint smell of baby powder but as time has passed I don't smell it anymore. My wife says the Blue has the powder smell but likes the smell of the Amber. It is to my understanding the Blue is to be discontinued.
once the aftershave dried and i looked in the mirror my face looked as if i had light talcum on.wet my finger & ran it up my chin & and you could see that there definitely was a coating on my face,loved them smell though.
Are you sure it wasn't dry skin from the alcohol as opposed to a powder coating?
I've never used it myself, but Catrentshaving was kind enough to bring his bottle and let me have a sniff :) I think I'll put it on my "must buy" list.

honestly at first i thought it was dry skin,which i never get,it was like a white coating on my skin,i'll try it again but the coating kid of put me off it.
My other question could be where you got the sample from, meaning what type of container was it in or was there some residue in it?
I've used it quite a bit since and never noticed any residue so I'm kind of baffled. But I would have to agree with you, if any aftershave left a powdery residue on my face it would definately put me off as well.
came in a small trial bottle,bought about 7-8 different samples to try from connaught,used them quite a bit,good stock & prices & fast delivery.
I got to try the Floid Genuine (Amber) today and I enjoyed it very much.
i agree....floid amber is really a nice aftershave. once and a while some vendors and ebayers sell 100 ml decants of it if you want to try a smaller sized amount. google/ebay floid Decant and some come up for sale every once and a while.

I bought about a 400ml bottle of amber Floid in Rome, and I love the smell. No talc on my face!
It is now about ten years I use Floid, both the "original amber" and "blue". I have never had such a "talc sensation" on my skin.
To me, Floid is the very best aftershave you can get for your skin. I love the amber better, though. I tried many aftershaves during my "shaving career" and no one compares to Floid. Just my opinion, of course.
I just ordered a bottle of the Floid amber "vigoroso" version a couple of weeks ago and I'm really impressed with the scent, really a nice after shave, I especially like the skin soothing benefits of this one, one of the best I've used so far.

If it's Floid I like it period. I have a samples just like yours in little bottles Amber and the Blue and I lov'em. I also have a big bottle of Vigaroso and a bottle of Suave and no disappointment here. I think I know what you mean by a Talc feeling but,I have never experienced a residue? I love how Floid for me is virtually burnless. It always feels refreshing and actually soothing. It don't know what the Spaniards put in that stuff but it works and is wonderful. I have all 5 Floid's. While the Blue is my fav I like them all.
I'm really surprised at the no burn when I apply it guys, definitely a keeper, really happy that I finally got around to trying this one.

Floid has been on my radar. What does the amber and blue scents smell like?
Amber is sort of warm and sweet and blue is like a classic barber shop smell ? The blue is hard to get though for some reason. You won't be disappointed with either.Quote:

from what I had hear round the grapevine,their were some sort of production problems with the Blue but,I don't really know the story? I like the Vigaroso and the Suave and find the Suave slightly less menthol than the Vigaroso but, I would take either one .Like I said,I like'em all . I have never tried the Black yet though.
YOu can't go wrong with any of the Floids, either Italian or Spanish versions are very nice.
Vigaroso (my favourite) is a slightly higher menthol version of the original Italian Floid
None of them leave a powdery residue
I think my next big bottle purchase will be the amber. I can't say enough good things about Floid.:)
I really like the Floid. There not easy to come by in the Netherlands (besides online orders of course) so it's not a regular item in my rotation.
