Burt's Bees shave cream (lotion) as pre-shave.

So I, like many I think, bought some Burt's Bees shaving lotion on an impulse...today in the store after smelling some on my fingers.

Well after an obviously disappointing shave I became determined to return the stuff, but then it occurred to me that it might actually make a pretty decent PRE-shave. Has anyone tried using it like that? Like just another moisturizing cream? I'm thinking of trying with it rinsed off before lathering and then without rinsing.

It really does have a nice smell. Shame about the lather, but I think it may be salvageable by repurposing it.

I think you are on to something here. Actually, it reminds me of their facial cleanser rather that shaving cream.

I have actually tried this 2 or three times now. I think it actually works pretty good as a pre-shave. Half the ingredients are various oils, so makes sense. It's a little on the gunky side, but the smell lingers on your skin and is quite nice.

I've used the Burts bees years ago and didn't think much of it other than I liked the scent. I'm not sure I see it as a pre shave because I found it just dried out on my skin really fast which I don't think would enhance the shaving experience. Of course I never tried it as a pre-shave so I can't say from experience.
