Think of entering a new house, you initially notice the distinct smell that any house has. But in 6 minutes after entering you don't notice it anymore, because the contrast is gone and therefore not as apparent. It's still there to anyone new who walks in however, and if you were to leave and come back, you'd notice it again.
I only mention this because it would suck to be "that guy" that just reaks of aftershave. Maybe you have enough for everyone else to notice, but the effect wears off for your own nose.
Maybe I'm the overly semi sensitive to too much pefume/cologne, but I've actually told people to leave my office because they smell like they went for a swim in a perfume pool.
