Anyone wear this? I love the arabian style attar's and scents. Very animalistic and containing a trendous amount of "morphing" as it drys down.

I've tried it but I don't own any Amouage fragrances.
They are a well known brand for changing through various phases and notes during the idea. Quite unique in that sense; mind you the bottles are unique too!
I have a few samples of Amouage Frags, including Epic Man. I find it to be one of the better ones (along with Julilation XXV, Memoir Man and Lyric Man). I just wore it Saturday. I also enjoy the woody resins and Frankincense, and it's not overly cloying or stifling like some incense frags are.
I just checked the price of this stuff and it REALLY EXPENSIVE! Is it THAT good?
The short answer is yes! OUD oils and such are very powerful scents. These are actually oils and are dabbed on in 1-2 drops. A little goes a long way with them. Look for Attar's. Epic man is an EDP and while sprayed on also very strong. I go very gentle with it's application as it's so easy to overkill. If your interested in rich animalistic scents such as oud's, check out the perfumed court as they sell in decants.
I have the Dia Man, and I find it a very nice scent for me.
Lasts all day, and you'd definitely don't run into others wearing it in the elevator:)
Wether or not it is worth the price of around $300 for a 100ml bottle, that is a question everyone must answer for themselves, but it was for me..
The Homage attar and, especially, the Tribute attar are truly sublime and sufficiently concentrated to make them "worth" their price IMO. I bought 1 ml decants, and the smallest dab is enough for an all-day application.
The Amouage EdPs are a different story. While the natural ingredients are of high quality, neither the strength nor the quality of the execution justify their premium price over many other niche houses. The Jubilation XXV is a possible exception and Epic, Memoir and Lyric are also pretty good and IMO the best of their offerings.
Yes they are very powerful so you only need a tiny amount.
I think it was over on Basenotes, where someone calculated how long a 50ml and 100ml bottle of fragrance will last you. I recall 50ml was 2 years based on a single spray per day and the spray defined as 0.25ml I think.
Another good animalic oud scent to try would be the Oud Caravan series from La Vied Del Profumo (Profumo, profumi di nicchia, aromaterapia, profumi naturali, oli essenziali, diffusori di aromi, psicologia del profumo, comunicazione olfattiva, profumi afrodisiaci con feromoni, marketing sensoriale). They are all natural fragrances, and he does a phenomenal job with them. I have the Oud Caravan No. 1, and it is a great one. It smells like you've been riding through the desert on a rich leather saddle strapped to a sweating horse (but in a wonderfully good way)...
If I morph any more than I already have, I'm afraid the wife will kick me out of the shave den.
Agree. Profumo makes some truly exceptional fragrances, and they offer great samplers and reasonable prices (by Amouage standards). The Mecca Balsam, Bazaar, and Chillum are are also wonderful. Most of the others are probably as well, but I have not had a chance to try them yet.
Ok, fellas. You talked me into it. My decants arrived yesterday. WHOO these are powerful! I have a "touch" of Lyric Man on right now. It's pleasant. I've worn some other colognes or EDP's from other makers and the strong smell often makes my nose run, which I think was from some of the chemicals, but this stuff seems more natural. Whoever said a little of this stuff goes a long way wasn't kidding.
Gave in and ordered a decant of both Epic Man and Montale Oud Cuir D'Arabie. Will be my first time trying true niche type scents. Thanks for the post suggesting the Perfumed Court.
Received my samples and have tried both. Right now wearing the Amouage Epic Man. Wife said she is not a fan. I'm still not sure. I don't think I'd pay $300.00 for 100 ml of the stuff.
The Montalle Oud Cuir D'Arabie is intriguing. As I've read in other reviews the initial application is shocking, almost repulsive. I definitely get that "poopy", fecal barnyard note. That initial olfactory assault quickly mellows down to a funky, deep smokey roses-behind an-ancient wooden outhouse-in-the-desert kind of fragrance. Sounds kinda bad, but actually it was good. I applied the OCD just before bed and think it facilitated some interesting dreams. This morning the funky roses had morphed into a dry leather. Still not sure I'd buy this stuff. Will have to try a few more applications.
