Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille EDP

(excerpt from Basenotes' entry for Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille)
Top Notes: Tobacco leaf, Spices
Heart Notes: Tonka bean, Tobacco flower, Vanilla, Cocoa
Base notes: Dry fruit accord, Woods
I've owned this since it first appeared, and have used it sparingly; I say this not because of cost (it is quite expensive, with the 1.7-ounce selling for ±$200), but because I tend to overspray.
So, my impressions. I've grown to like it more over the years -- "respect" it, as well. I don't get much-if-any demarcation between "top" and "heart" notes, and the "base" notes are AWOL. What I do get is -- from the start -- a perfect blend of Tobacco and Vanilla, where from one second to the next they're vying for primacy. Not "violently" so... more like "one itches, and the other scratches". I can't speak to its projection, but yesterday's mid-afternoon application has lasted well into today (as we speak!).
It's what people call a "sweet tobacco", but having spent a couple of teenage years with chewing tobacco, I disagree. No sooner does the vanilla emerge, than the tobacco envelops it, and balance is restored. I find it aromatic and restful... "lavender" for adults men.
Give it a go! (and do let us know)
