Thread: Geo F Trumper Spanish Leather

Anybody have this? Whats it smell like? I like Bay Rum, how does this compare?

I wish I could describe the scent but I lack the skills. I have the GFT and T&H Spanish leather. It does not remind of bay rum at all. I also find the GFT a bit overwhelming
and usually reach for the T&H when the mood strikes me. You can probably find great definitions of the scent on the manufacturers websites.

I love Trumpers Spanish Leather. Definitely no similarity to Bay Rum whatsoever. If I had to describe it's scent I would say that it smells like English Leather would if it wasn't cheap; better ingredients, no doubt. It's a basic alcohol splash, so don't expect any skin conditioning qualities.

My love of SL notwithstanding, my wife is allergic to it so I don't get to wear it nearly as often as I would like....

Well I might as well try some. I'm so far in debt beacause of you guys whats another 50 bucks lol.

Gentlemen:

The fragrance of Spanish Leather by both Geo F Trumper and Truefitt & Hill is intoxicating. Nothing close to Bay Rum, thank heavens.

The two versions of Spanish Leather are somewhat different, with the Truefitt & Hill offering more complex. Both fragrances radiate a clean and uplifting spirit, like stumbling into an English shave shop full of gentlemanly surprises.

I have enjoyed both versions for years, and hope to continue to do so into the next century. The best way to experience Spanish Leather is to try it — both versions.

I remember on my first visit to London, I stumbled into, I believe, Taylor of Old Bond Street — or it could have been Trumper or Truefitt & Hill — and stood in the middle of the store with my mouth open. Oh, yes! The sight and the fragrance made my spirit soar. That's what I mean by such a shop.
