I've seen my wife do them and then I ask myself, do I really want to do that to my face? To me it would be taking away from the "manliness" of straight shaving. Id feel more like a girl at that point. Half the reason I wanted to straight shave was because I wanted to do something my grandfathers would have done way back when. I don't think they used facial masks. Call me old fashioned.
I occasionally use a facial mask with my fiance. Perhaps after some *ahem* alone time and a hot shower, we'll let our masks dry while having a sip of wine, watching a tv show, and enjoying each others company. I can say that my face feels smooth after a mask, but I don't partake for the skin benefits - mostly just to enjoy some time with my special lady. If you'd like to try a facial mask - get some for your special lady! She'll love you for it, and you can try it with her. Some drugstores carry mask packs for no more than a buck or so a piece, so you can get a few different kinds for the both of you and go from there. Kind of a win-win, if you ask me!
I wouldn't be caught dead with my face slathered with that type of muck, but that's just me.
You gotta draw the line somewhere.
Would lather qualify as a face mask? If so I use one almost every day.
