I've enjoyed two Koraats, and these two are beautiful specimens. I really like the Filarmonica look alike.
Those were made after Filly 14 design with several small differences according to Korrat. I am going to get one of those soon.Quote:

Koraat razors are very nice razors, although I did send a custom model I ordered back because it was flawed, he wanted a chance to put it right but I declined he then threw his toys out of the pram and refused to make me another razor, well it's his loss there are many excellent custom makers out there.

I realize they go over this after an inquiry, but I am not sure I am ordering one yet and wanted to get this info before inquiring if possible.

I'm sure it depends on the blade and timing. Mine took about a month. As far as shipping cost, I goto the customizer, design your razor and he will send you a shipped cost to you.
I love the custom razor I received from him! Beautiful piece!
My first Koraat is in the mail. An 8/8's near wedge with olive scales. Ulrik is a pleasure to deal with and extremely responsive to emails, especially if you consider Austria is at least 8 hours ahead of the Eastern U.S.
Shipping costs to Montana was 20 Euro's. I have posted the photo's Ulrik was so kind to send me of my razor.
BTW, manufacturing time was only about 2 weeks, though I was anticipating 6 to 7 weeks. He had it in the mail by the time he received payment. Enjoy the photo's.

When I first looked at your gorgeous new razor, it reminded me of the west, of fancy saddles decked out with silver. Then I noticed you were from Montana. I grew up in Idaho, and have lived in Oregon the past 30 years, and I love it! Congratulations.

Thank you Richard. Not much for the fancy saddles, as I grew up on a working ranch and farm, but this design just spoke to me. If I ever get another razor, it will also be a Koraat, but most likely less ornate. Thanks again.

Just received this razor with out the logo due to Ulrik not happy with the way the logo was,not holding up but I still went away with the order and so glad I did . The razor is a full hollow and feels great looks great . I don’t think they get any better than this.Quote:

I will do. I will be using the razor on Saturday night�� It is hollow ground very hollow the bevel is minute which is what Ulrik likes to achieve a small bevel that is. I can tell you this much it pings hairs mid drift and hht just first touch the hair is gone. The last one was wicked sharp but I did find 30 strokes on the Snow White and 12 k naniwas with a thew licks on crox and I don’t think you would get a smoother shaver . Stefan I could not wait so I just took a shave. After ten years plus using a straight and having tried most razors from vintage to big custom makers such as livi razors etc . Also having learned how hone my self and also having experience guys like Jamie and other top guys hone for me I have to say this razor gave me the best shave ever I am not sure if it’s the steal that’s such good quality but I can honestly say get one . The honing is outstanding. Super silky and shaved effort lessly it really did . I would swap all my razor s for Ulrik razors both mine are outstanding shavers . You won’t be disappointed .
This edge does not need any further honing it’s superb .
If Jamie has ordered another one they must be good oh and by the way Jamie honed my fily up to his 20 k g it was superb . I still say this fily look alike as good if not better and well worth the price

I have been looking at Fili and Palmera 14's for quite some time now. Any that come up on the bay. If NOS or minty. Are pricey.
Then along comes SRP with it's charm and olive oil posts. And it takes my discretionary income away. And makes me look like a fool with RAD.
Pictures of Ulriks take on the vintage 14 razors caught my attention. Being right in line price wise as a vintage that is only in good/fair condition. But being new and gorgeous. As well as my choice of options. Makes this a diabolical trap to try and avoid.
After much internal debate. And being unable to talk myself out of it.
Tonight I sent a email through his configurator to get a quote. And info where to send my funds to get in line for one of his creations.
I am going to order it with red translucent scales. White wedge. Silver pins. Square point and smoothed belly.
Details and pics when available. To all on here that have posted his work. Thank you....

Was lucky enough to get an original while everyone else was chasing the almighty Filarmonica...
I received my 8/8 near wedge yesterday in the mail. I did not touch the edge and shaved with it this morning. Oh MY!! I may not hear each hair being severed like with a full hollow, but seemed like I could feel them. Once that blade starts moving no whiskers are going to slow it down. Mows them down as sweet as could be. The edge was fabulous! Not harsh in any way, and definitely the sharpest razor I have experienced to date. I now know what it means to "pop" hairs on the arm, I only thought I knew before. Two pass shave was nearly immaculate and just short of BBS; most likely due to the angle on the skin than anything else. I expect it will get better with each shave as I learn to use the wedge, that is as long as I don't error in my stropping. The weight and shear size of the razor was impressive and significant compared to my 6/8 Ralph Aust. I found both the weight and size pleasing and easier to use than my other smaller razors. Workmanship......impeccable, without any fault. Anyone know where some 120k diamond spray can be found? What would the "micron" rating be for 120k if I desire to go this route and can't get a spray in the states?

Straight Razor Designs has Diamond Spray. I'm glad that you're enjoying that gorgeous razor. I have two of Ulrich's near wedges and enjoy them both, although I'm thinking about ordering another in a hollow grind.
