There's at least one other member here who can post pictures of a NOS John Barber. I know because I sold it to him :)
EDIT: Mine isn't NOS, obviously, but the other one was.

See i knew there were some barbers out there!
I have a very beautiful "Barber's Special" but unfortunately I am not a dab hand with the digital camera. It is a heavy (perhaps 1/2 hollow) spike with minimal hone-wear except that the spike has been tamed, a bit. The shank has a pattern of XXXX on both sides and the number 65 and the name EATON on one side, and KRUSIUS BROTHERS on the other.
I'll post these For the Village "Barber"
First the Shumate - Barber

Second in the The Shumate - Authentic Barber

Third is the Shumate - Barber DeLuxe

I think those are all the ones that I have in my collection but if I find another I will post that also......
First, my Shumate's.....these were taken fresh out of the box before being cleaned and polished. They really did clean up quite well, I just haven't had a chance to take new pics.

my john barber - unfortunately it was poorly reground when i bought it, but josh evened it out very nicely. the pressed horn scales are quite batered, but are functionally sound and add to the rustic look, so they are staying for now.
Very nice gugi! Someone else on here has a John Barber......he just mentioned it a couple days ago and I should have told him to come over here.....maybe I'll remember....anyways, nice razor!! :tu
nice one!!!!
My Barber got this one from Bruno. Mabe the best shaver I have. And the oldist
I've got one of these coming tomorrow from www.theinvisibleedge.com
Don't tell the wife!
Here's my entry to 'The Barber Shop'! As you can probably see, I haven't even totally cleaned it up yet, I have a bad habit of wanting to use 'em as soon as I get 'em. This one gave me one of the best shaves of late. I thought I wouldn't like the size but it actually helped!
Fred
drfred,
The tarnish on that barber's notch matches the underlying carpet too well. It took a second glance to see that there wasn't a chunk out of the notch.
Maybe I just need more sleep...
Maybe one of these days I'll buy a new towel for a backdrop:D

OK, here's my Barber's Only blade. Check out the scales from Traveller (Gary). Obviously, the blade job is not Gary's but I couldn't wait to put the scales on. Notice that each side is a different color, awesome aren't they.
Fred
Nice Fred! I've GOT to get something from Gary soon.....lol.......
Hi, here is my
Genco Head Barber, Geneva, N.Y, U.S.A (on tang) Classified (on monkey tail)
What does the Classified marking mean?
come on gentlemen step right up, step right up. A troubling situation has arrived in the razor club and that is the use of thumbnail pictures. I know that some of you old timers still remember when the razor clubs were a thing of beauty! with large glossy pictures of razors and we viewed until our hearts content. but those days are through it would seem. I beseech all the members of the razor clubs to take the poll in the general section and vote to restore large pictures to our beloved razor clubs. It is up to us gent and together we can restore these clubs to there former glory!!!!!!

I really like those John Barber razors with the square and compass in them. Was that a trademark of the company or a sign of a higher calling?
I always thought this thread was for Genco :o
I thought village = NYC, Barber = what most Genco models were called:shrug:
Ooops!
like the title says ... nothing special here.... there is one other W&B in 8/8... pics coming soon...
I don't normally name my razors, except when I nick myself, and then it's usually talking about it's maternal lineage....
This one came with a name already. it's a National Barber Supply that I restored with African Blackwood scales and a blued the tang. Inscribed on the blade was the name of a previous owner, "Lewis M Steidel".
I'm waiting for one of you to chime in, now, and tell me about this grizzled old barber who used to give your dad a shave and a haircut, named Lew.
Goog
The top razor is stamped "Barbers Delight" However it is a regrind of a Robeson Suredge as you can still see "The razor that fits your face" on the blade as well as the hammer marks that didn't get ground off (under the scales :p )
Man, another thread I must revive!! This one has not gotten any attention in a while, so here is my submission.
Here is my Shapleigh "The Shapleigh Barber's" that I just recently finished restoring and rescaling and honing.
It shaves like a house afire, and the first curved spine I was able to hone on my own. I love this razor!! This was a recent submission from the SOTD forum.
Enjoy!!
