Great additions, Otto ! Thanks!!!!!!!!! :tu
This is my Great Grandfather's razor purchased in a store located in my home town sometime before the turn of 20th century. It is a Pequot brand and made in Germany, although I'm unsure if it is a Solingen blade. Now a 9/16ths, she may have started as a 5/8ths as there is significant hone wear.
The original scales were broken at the second pin and Max has rescaled her in Bocote. Before and after photos.
Here is my second Soligen, just arrived from The Shaving Shop. Just a quick honing session and she provides an excellent shave. Photo is from John's web store.
Got this one for just a few buck on the bay. It needs a touch of TLC, but I'm quite pleased overall.

Blade is etched with "Crown Imperial Special Hollow Ground".
That same side of the tang says "Marca Reg La Rueda" (with a ship's wheel).
The oposite side of the tangs says "Solingen".
The scales are bone, I believe.
The box reads "Navaja Megnetica" / "Marca La Rueda" on one half and "Garantida de Solingen" on the other.
What's the idea behind magnetic blades anyway?
I just recieved one of those myself!

My first Busch Weltmeister, I've been looking for one for some time. I got it unused/unhoned, rescaled in olivewood with a nickel spacer. 7/8ths. The satin polish and olivewood scales give the old razor a surprisingly modern look.
This razor is a new high water mark in shave quality for me. I waited for several shaves before commenting, to be sure it wasn't a fluke. Just an amazing shaver. As smooth as the finest Sheffield wedge, but with incredibly loud full-hollow "acoustics," sounds like sheets ripping as it just glides across my face! Light, very rigid, and maneuverable. Great razor.
I have been missing out on Solingen razors, and have just learned better. :tu
