Bengall by Thomas Radley Cadman, Sheffield.
This is a Bengall I bought from A SRP member a couple of weeks ago, and I love it,
I am so impressed that I bought another on ebay and going to have it restored by the afore mentioned member.
Are all Bengalls excellent shavers ?
Ps Can I join the Band of Brothers :)
pps The bengall I won on ebay is identical to the twins in post 87 of the thread
A little over a month ago, I bought Mike's Bengall in the bloodwood scales (see pics in post #51)--my first straight razor. Hope to have some other Bengalls to keep this one company in the future!
I now have 3 bengall razors all made by TR Cadman, but I saw a bengall etched ward brothers, as I didn't want to start another thread to ask the question, does anyone know if Cadman's sub contracted their razors to ward brothers ?
Thanks
This is my only Bengall. If it is any indication as to what they would become-wow! It's a killer shaver, and a looker too. Do any of you Bengallistas know when this one might have been made? Enjoy the photo.

That looks similar in style to one I have (take a look at the photo back at post 48). Similar tang, looks like cast steel, nice little monkey tail.
I'd suggest somewhere in the early 1800s - maybe between 1810 and 1830 or so, or thereabouts.

Yes, it looks very similar. I didn't mention that the blade on mine is 1". The cast steel mark ended ~1830, and the meat chopper blades started at the same time, according to Ritchie & Stewart. So, I guess, around 1825- which is what you said. Cool. I'll be shaving with it tonight.

Hey I can join now. These are my 3. Well 4. First one is shave ready. Fantastic shaver. The Middle just says Cadman I assume its still a Bengall. It has Beautiful Horn scales. The 4th one well. We can still call it a Bengall.:)
If I'm not mistaken, Cadman was a big reseller or distributor of Bengalls.
Given this a quick clean up and had it honed. TR Cadman & Son.
Seems to do a great job. My first str8 and much preferred to my Blue Steel.
