My Grandmother is one of those that threw out a collection of perfectly good CT's that were part of my Great Grandfathers belongings. Makes my guts twist up just thinking about it too. How I would love to have had them kept for myself and my cousins...Or just for me :)...

I'm currently in the process of tracking down whatever remains of my Grandfathers' (that's both of them, not a typo) respective shaving kits. I distinctly remember my Grandfather on my mother's side having a VERY nice strop that alway hung on the outside of the bathroom door ... but nobody can recall what happened to it. I'm going to start digging into my Father's side of the family as well but I'm starting to feel a lack of "history", you might say. Getting to work with old family gear would be well worth the effort, I think.

Hi guys i just picked up this little beauty it my first project .Bengall horn scales that are bent and need to be straightened and re pinned blade looks to be not bad should clean up very nice.Just wondering if anyone would have an idea of age on this one? I will post pics when finished thanks for any advice.

If my eyes see an England stamp its post 1890 but I'm guessing not much post.

I have a question for you guys , it seems as the early bengalls dont have Ld after the cadman and sons and i was wondering if anyone knows when they started stamping thier blades with the Ld just as to maybe better date them thanks for any info.

I work for a small museum in the north of Ontario in Canada, and we've just been donated a beautiful Bengall straight razor. Could any of you help me determine when this particular type of Bengall was being manufactured? I've attached some photos below :) Sorry for their size D:

Aside from the square point it's very similar to one of mine which I presume to be around the 1920s. Must get them both cleaned up to send off for proper honing, now that you've reminded me.

Definitely post 1890 because of the 'England' stamp.
