So I jumped in it! I've decided to go all retro, really retro and get my first staright razor. After doinf a little research an explaining to my wife that my birthday is next month I bought this sweet thing on Ebay.
I know a little about Case knives after doing an inventory on my Father Inlaws Case collection after he passed recently. I knew enough about the tang stamps to date the razor to early 1900s. It hasn't arrived yet, but it shve ready and has been professionally honed and is shave ready.
I'm excited, but still need a few things. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for strops, brushes and favorite soaps. Also any info on the razor itself would be gravy! I don't think I'll ever part with it being my first an all:) But I would enjoy have info to pass on with the blad when I pass on (as it were:)~
Thanks all! I think it's probably appropriate to say "thanks guys" but in today's crazy world there may be a female out there who would be offended.
