I was drying the inside of my vintage Boker King Cutter this morning and noticed the number 20 stamped on the inside of each scale.
Could that possibly the year of manufacture?

I would say mold number.
My newest acquisition is a simple 6/8 Silver Steel with faux ivory scales.
