Well it did sting. A lot.
So to take the sting out I went to Cabelas on Sunday and bought a 1969 Colt Agent 38 Special with little to no wear.

It's a beauty. Can't wait to shoot it.

It does make the loss seem less injurous, somehow. And, yes, it was quite a bit more expensive. I had passed on the 7 day set both times it was offered since I was setting the funds aside for a new (to me) snub nose "Dick Tracy Special". I was suprised to find a Colt is such good shape (97 - 99 percent by my estimate) for less than $1000.00.
It's a shame that the country that gave birth to so many other lands has come to such a sorry state. I fear that my country is attempting to walk down the same path. Hopefully the great state I live in (Texas) will be the lone hold-out.
Or, as they say, "From my cold, dead hands."

Medic, I hope you're gonna show us the rest of those razors...
I don't think the crown in those stamps is the same as a royal warrant which means the manufacturer supplied goods to the court.
there's pic in the respective razor clubs and I plan on adding to the wiki as well
and that is a royal warrent stamp
Actually I don't think I've seen a razor from undisputed holder of royal warrant who had a crown in their stamp. They do spell out 'cutlers to his/her/their majesty(ies)' though. I always thought the royal initials along with a crown were just fashionable for a while as a way to indicate the period. But obviously I don't know all that much about it and go with what I've learned from people who seem to have more experience in this.
Perhaps some of them will chime in.
