I'd try to save those scales tho the wedge end looks damaged.

Unfortunately the scales are toast. Large areas of bug bites on both. About an 1/8 of the back scale was gone. I think I may have saved them for a pattern, but not sure.

Well, bug bites can be filled but if bits are missing that can be a problem :(
