Not that I know of, Although I have a forty-two and a forty-four that I picked up. Both are nice blades
Sounds like the Hess truck is back and better than ever!
No Hess pics yet? I'll post a few.
The first is a 42 that came in a lot w/ a Gold Edge square point and a Red Imp. Hone wear is a bit heavy. The Imp was the best of the lot.
Second is a 44 5/8, a real nice shaver. An EBay pic that I will update when my son comes over.
Last one is a 8/8 I just received this morning. Pics are EBay specials. I will post better pics the next time my son comes over. It cleaned up really nice w/ some Mass. I can't wait to try this one. Maybe I'll be able to get it honed and try it this weekend.
Wow, those pics are fantastic. My photography skills suck, but here's a couple I snapped...

It seems like Hess blades don't find their way on to ebay very often.
Here are better pics of the 44 and 1. Sorry it took so long. That's a nice one you have there Pizza! :tu
Hey Joe, does your 1 double as a spatula? It just looks sooooo huge; I still can't believe it's only an inch wide.
Hess is still in business as a barber supply company in St. Paul, Minnesota on Rice Street. The only thing they sell now are Dovo razors. I cleaned out their remaining inventory 1-2 years ago and only have a few of the good ones left and those I am keeping.:D

Got it from Lee, restored by Max. Excellent razor, and quite the looker, I think.

I finally got around to taking a picture of my Hess. It was my first straight razor and purchased new in 1987-1988. It's an 11/16", 1/4 hollow

Hello, Mr. newbie member, here!
I just picked up a beautifully restored #1 from eBay today (Apr2,10) and I think I got a heck of a deal. Only $64. $72 if one includes S&H. What do you fellas think of the price?
I love that one inch blade you have. It's awesome. I'm on the lookout for a one inch as well. That's a goal right now - to have each blade size to start with. Just beginning my collecting. Then as my collecting matures, the sky is the limit.....or until the wife says enough.
The other pictures you all have displayed are of some gorgeous looking razors. It's amazing to me all the workmanship that goes into some of them. Truly works of art (imo). ;)
I suggest (if someone hasn't already) that we have a dedicated thread to the brand name HESS so that it's easy to search from our sites search engine. Plus, a HESS photo gallery sounds really nice too. Don't you think? We can morph this one into that thread.
They're all awfully beautiful in their own rights and should be displayed - and I just like looking at them. Kind of like looking at a pair of gorgeous legs on a woman! But I am no computer NET guy and dunno how much it costs to store images on a server so it might not be a good idea afterall.
Just a thought.
I am now sold on HESS!
My first Hess... An early birthday present to myself :) Just honed it up & I can't wait to try it out tomorrow.
This is the voice of jealousy. 'Looks great. By all I've ever heard, the shaves should be outstanding.
HESS 44 stainless steel frozen temper. This the first one I've found and it looks to be unused. Can't wait to try it out.
